Opening with a glistening pad & tight off-beat percussive line, the title track Colos invites you to explore a sort of fantastical trek through the purest of euphoria, with its mellifluous warmth & playful vocal carrying you all the way to the end.

Radiating a neoclassical quality is the second superb offering, XR. Its gentle organic rhythmic elements & key-work paired with a subtle vox bathe you in a highly visceral state of bliss.

Finding deep resonance with the likes of forward-thinking arists like Max Cooper, Otik, Boards of Canada, Overmono, Jon Hopkins, & Ulrich Schnauss, Mattr has always veered towards the left-field end of the electronic spectrum, with granular synthesis, random midi-expressions and intricate drum programming at the root of his signature raw emotive productions.

Back in his hometown of Birmingham, he hosted nights at Black Box with fellow innovator Alex Banks & Maxxi Soundsystem, signing music to Faceless Recordings, Ozono, & TrippyCode. With support from Amé, Guy Gerber, & Laurent Garnier, to name a few, he went on to launch his own imprint Helical Scan with Lewyn Stan followed by Loft & Sound where he’s released a string of exquisite melters, including Primary, Spiel, & Celadon.

After the debut single ‘Pearl of Vietnam’ in 2019, Holy Grail Music is happy to have Chris Wolter aka Phuc Long finally back with his 3-track ‘Pink’ EP. This will be also marked as the first single from the debut full-length album that he is working on.

For years, Chris Wolter has been a veteran in the underground music scene in Vietnam where he is joyfully living and gaining the reputation with his very own Techno label Pink Room Records.

As his alias Phuc Long, he has proved again his own melodic sound throughout ‘Pink’ EP, featuring 3 awesome lively diverse productions. Moreover, his dream does not stop there, he is now already meticulously working on his debut album next year, and 'Pink' EP will likely define the whole album’s atmosphere, a big next step in Phuc Long’s music career.

A new artist making his Meanwhile Horizons debut, Covsky opens his account for the GMJ & Matter led imprint, with the 3-track “Space Walk”.

Hailing from the New South Wales capital, Sam Cooke has acquired an impressive reputation in a short space of time with his Covsky production moniker. Marking his first release with an appearance on 3rd Avenue’s “Three of a Kind #05” in July 2020, productions signed to Forward Music, Future Avenue and Massive Harmony Records followed before “Whole 9” featured on Steve Marx and Tripswitch’s onedotsixtwo in December 2021.

Now the Australian boasts another first with three new original tracks on Meanwhile Horizons. The “Space Walk” title track is a beautifully imagined piece that rolls effortlessly along with its organic sounding percussive groove, before glassy synth motifs drift across the mid-range. Accompanied by ethereal vocal phrases, a series of spoken astronaut samples add to the overall sonic ambience and cadence. Combining with filtered arpeggio at the breakdown and into the third movement the track builds to a satisfying and impressive finale.

The relaxed rhythmic backdrop continues into “Greener Pastures” as a deep bass groove adds weight and subtle dancefloor dynamism. Evolving easily, a chorus of complementary synth phrases add a gloriously emotive chord progression. Playing off each other, their immaculate placement creates a sublime arrangement that reaches out over the sonic horizon with delicately wavering oscillator pitch to add further intrigue. The result is a beautifully imagined array of melodic patterns.

The final piece finds a heavy beat and ticking hi-hat pattern take up the mantle of “Holding On”. A delicate wood block percussion plays out across the top line as a meticulously programmed bassline creates a head-shaking groove. A trademark collection of analogue synth layers makes their presence felt before an inspiring string sequence weaves a magical path at the breakdown and into the second half. White-noise risers and searing free-form lead then add to the aural collage with striking effect.

A confident and assured debut, Covsky ventures out into the deep with an inspiring “Space Walk”.
