Apobothra - The Twenty Two series

Alan Backdrop is the alias used for Alessio Meneghello‘s project, promising young artist born and raised in Italy. For years, fascinated by electronic music and strongly inspired by the world of nature, Alessio realizes its own music and atmospheric ‘travels’ both as a producer and DJ. We met him thanks to our friends at The Frag in Padua, where we were impressed by his dj-set to point to arouse an abiding interest in him. His repertoire encompasses disparate sounds, often related to atmospheres with dreamlike shades. In 2011, he began working as a DJ on the international scene, taking part at the “Artmospheric” in Bulgaria, an idyllic festival between the mountains. Thereafter, he began performing in major clubs around Europe. From 2012 he becomes part of the artistic roster of two highly respected record labels such as the German Prologue Music and the Swiss Motoguzzi Records.

The podcast that has prepared for us is a mixture of ambient, techno and dub-techno, a sort of evolution of sounds that will make a trip to the limit that allow you enter his world through the front door.

Volte-Face, otherwise known as Casper Clark is a key figure in London’s adventurous electronic music scene. We are glad to welcome Casper to our podcasts series with an eclectic dj set, which we managed to capture at Daydreamers day event on the 26th of July in Red Market. Casper runs BleeD events, working alongside the likes of Blackest Ever Black, PAN, L.I.E.S. and Unsound, since 2010 he has been promoting some of the most innovative electronic music acts on the planet, as well as running a regular Rinse FM show and 22tracks.com experimental playlist. The Twenty Two 17 'Neutrino Oscillation'

Edanticonf  [ Eclipsemusic / Silent Season ] Italy

After coming back from Hamburg to his home city Turin, Edoardo Zerbinati totally reorganized his life, together with setting up a new studio in the town.

Back in that cloudy, rainy, romantic place where he was initiated to the Techno music culture, he saw the release of his debut album on Silent Season and, after that, the label has been selected as “label of the month” by Resident Advisor.

Some months later, the canadian label also put out an Edanticonf’s EP with a remix by the mysterious Sweden producer Abdulla Rashim. This collaboration on a limited vinyl was charted in the Top Techno Chart by some of the most important vinyl shops through the world.

All the textures in this set are written and produced by Edoardo Zerbinati with using mainly analog equipment (additional production by Iori and Decoside, remixed by Edanticonf). A lot of pieces of music are unreleased or played in a live version and due to this reason it’s not possible to attach a complete track list. The man and the perception of the infinite are the main themes of his compositions; Techno music lends itself to this goal with the integration of sounds inspired by natural landscapes.

Apobothra - The Twenty Two 12 'Falling Through The Nutshell'

Aleksei Klimkin (Apobothra) is a Moscow based electronic music producer who has been inspired by such musicians as The Future Sound of London, Autechre, Biosphere, Brian Eno, Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound, DeepChord / Echospace, ASC / Mindpsan, bvdub, Fluxion, Quantec, Fingers In The Noise and others. 
Starting with drum&bass in 2006 his tastes have gradually shifted to deeper electronic music such as dub techno, deep techno and ambient. Many of his tracks have been supported by some big names on the scene. 
His first release with Apobothra alias was released on Spaceal Orbeats label in the end of 2013 and simultaneously became his first album. It is called ‘In Search for an Explanation’ and the production style there is based on author’s intoxication by science and particularly by astrophysics.
In real life "Apobothra" is an astronomical term whose meaning is quite similar to "Apogee", but while Apogee is the point of greatest distance between the Earth and its orbiting object, Apobothra is the furthermost point on the Black Hole orbit.
