Minor Rain is an artist of real diversity and depth who has a deep emotive connection with the music he produces. An accomplished musician who plays piano and sax, drawing on influences from a range of diverse sources from film scores and sound design to artists covering all spectrums of electronic music such as Noisia, Audio, Amon Tobin and Hans Zimmer to name a few. Taking inspiration from artists of that caliber, high-end production values were always going to be an integral part of his work, this providing the foundation for his musicality, with the two elements complimenting each other perfectly. He’s an artist whose aspiration is to produce something truly unique and original. 

His latest release, forthcoming on Addictive Behaviour, highlights his ability to not only work at different tempos but also how he’s able to go from the melodic, to the dark and minimal or stylishly blending both laid over precision engineered drum edits.

Shimmering high hats, reverbed bleeps and haunting strings open the Flux track before a short kick and snare leads to the breakdown. Crunchy vox sounds combined with filtered drums and metallic synths ready the track before dropping into a big growling metallically industrial synth and weighty sub that drives the track on. And with a few subtle synth and bass switches this makes for a polished, dark and techy slammer of a track.

InsideInfo kicked off 2015 with the widely received Mushroom / The Plains single on Viper Recordings, gaining airplay from Mistajam, Friction & DJ Hype, whilst simultaneously getting smashed out in clubs by the likes of Ed Rush & Optical, Sub Focus, The Prototypes, Calyx & Teebee, Phace & Misanthrop, and Optiv & BTK. Riding off the back of this InsideInfo will lay down a DNB60 mix on Friction’s BBC Radio 1 show in September to cap off another stellar year.

Mefjus has equally had an amazing year with the launch of his Emulation LP on Critical, collaborations with Noisia & The Upbeats and remixes for the likes of Ivy Lab, as well as the recent collaboration with InsideInfo and The Upbeats on Footpath on Virus Recordings.

Together they have been smashing up headline slots at festivals all summer and as the fields start to empty they’re now ready to fill your speakers with their latest collaboration: Pulsation / Talisman.

Pulsation is a slice of technical genius that will get the chin-strokers jumping and the ladies shaking. If you took Pacman, pumped him full of steroids and got him to swim in a bath of Redbull you’re part way to getting on the right track. Quality, bouncing Drum & Bass, that’s cheeky and oh so sub heavy.

Flip side we have Talisman adding a few more coals to the fire.  It gets down dirty in all the right places and goes balls out for this full on affair. Tricky edits, thundering subs and mountain shaking breaks and beats see’s Talisman finish off this single in underground style.

On June 2018 Cegvera visited Mexico for the first time and along with Vinnum Sabbathi embarked on a tour across the country which concluded with the recording of this split.

“HEX VIII: The Malthusian Spectre” is the fourth entry on the HEX series of short releases from Mexican space doomsters Vinnum Sabbathi; this 13-minute madness was recorded in a single take, with only samples being added later.On this track, the band brings the concept of interplanetary exploration to the table, with the visit of man-made objects to the limits of the Solar System.

A short intermission with samples taken from an article of Isaac Asimov serves as transition for both bands and gives the title of this split release: “The Good Earth is Dying”.

“The good earth is dying; so, in the name of humanity let us move. Let us make our hard but necessary decisions. Let us do it quickly … let us do it now.”

Gerardo moves from drums for Vinnum Sabbathi to guitar for Cegvera for the second half of the split.

Assuming that another astronomical object known to harbour life is inhabited by humans, if resource depletion prevails then this astronomical object would face the same consequences as the ones that Earth is facing today because of us. Narrating from the colonization (Arrival/Colonia), then the wasting of resources and overpopulation (Depletion/Overshoot), and finally the consequences that this would create (Collapse/Aftermath ).

This release marks a significative change in the sound of Cegvera, as this is the last record where Aaron Scrupps performs on bass, triggering the evolution of the project into a two-piece doom/post-metal band.
