The Irish Experience play Celtic and Appalachian music on traditional electric instruments.

Hey guys, my name is Ashten Steinbach and I'm a songwriter at home. I don't consider myself a singer and my music tends to be rather simple, but I'm just trying this out so I can get feedback. Let me know what you think! :)

Rousing and raucous, Scythian (sith-ee-yin) plays kicked-up Celtic and world music with hints of Gypsy and Klezmer, all infused with a touch of punk-rock sensibility. Take a trio of classically trained dueling fiddlers, toss in a rhythm guitar, a banjo and the occasional funky accordion, then power it with the driving rhythm of a world percussionist, and you've got the ingredients for a show you won't soon forget. Scythian's high-energy, adrenaline-peddling, interactive brand of music is the result of their origins as street performers and has one goal in mind - to get people up on their feet and dancing. Their repertoire ranges from traditional and contemporary Celtic and folk music to the alluring and dramatic strains of Gypsy and Eastern European tunes, and then crosses back over the border to pick up some good old-fashioned bluegrass licks.

Hard driving Roots/Rock from Canada’s East Coast!

Since 2009, POGEY has been showcasing their unique take on Roots music at the biggest Celtic Rock festivals across the US resulting in an increased fan base and industry nominations.  The band has mastered how to captivate audiences with their crowd participation skills, original songs and remarkable instrumentals. Their show combines electric guitar, fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar, bass, drums, bodhran and four-part vocal harmonies to produce a trademark sound. POGEY has headlined and participated at such events as the Grey Cup 100 Kick Off (Toronto), Kansas City Irish Fest (4 appearances in 5 years), Taste of Edmonton and the Chicago, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and Colorado Irish Festivals – to name a few. They have also performed live and been interviewed on CBS, FOX, CBC and countless radio programs across America and Canada.

POGEY is the vision of Nova Scotia native and lead singer Ray Mattie who once moved to the Toronto region in search of like-minded musicians. The goal was to create an all-original band with a Roots based sound. Without finding the right chemistry, Mattie moved back to Nova Scotia and through a referral contacted bassist Jonny Grant. Lead guitarist Warren Robert (who originally signed up for two shows) rounds out the original line up which has been in place for 11 years. With a solid original core and increased engagements POGEY has added extra musicians to the group. Drummer Mike Carroll and fiddler Anthony Rissesco round out the line up.
