DOBRO's ongoing 'Tape' series of compilations has thus far delivered a quintet of genuinely must-check collections of cuts, with label boss Iner using it as a vehicle to showcase new and previously unheard music from a mixture of debutants, friends and label regulars. Naturally, instalment number six boasts tons more memorable music, with our highlights including the heady, morning-fresh and pleasingly colourful deep hip-hop of Dedyla P's 'Thank You', the nostalgic hip-house revivalism of Jan Janssen's 'We Be The Masters', the chunky and loose-limbed disco-house hedonism of 'Waiting For Spring (Disco Rewind' by Edbasewax, the infectious, carnival-ready Latin rhythms of Selva's 'Descarga Urbana', and the gloriously kaleidoscopic, piano-powered garage-house rush of 'Ur Step' by Harrington.

Still buzzing from the first House of Spirits 12” earlier this summer, RNT tops up our collective high with even more soulful bliss from the mind of Tom Noble. A Brit-funk inspired uptempo heater with spindly guitars, driving bass and a joyous vocal hook, “Please Take Me There” is another all-original modern retro offering that portends the massive gravity of the full LP to come. On the B side, Dutch production wunderkinds Makèz reconfigure the tune into a sultry vocal house excursion, and Sizmo takes it to the beach with an extra wavey balearic A Capella dub.
