Bio:

Enrique Jimenez aka https://soundcloud.com/bigpack is the https://soundcloud.com/housesaladmusic label boss out of Mexico City. He discovered his love for electronic music in the mid 90's when he attended house and techno parties with local DJs. From then on, his intimate love affair with house music began. The sound of Chicago with labels like Cajual and Relief and Prescription brought him the most inspiration. His whole trajectory changed and music became his life. The task of discovering music became an infinite loop of collecting records. After 11 years of touring dance floors as a spectator and amateur DJ, in 2005 he acquired his first turntables, technics 1200s. When he finally felt he had an extensive vinyl collection, he decided to venture into the world of DJing professionally.
Now, with some years of experience, Big Pack has played in key clubs all over Mexico, opening for artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson , Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, to name a few.

He is busy with several internet radio show residencies on Sugarshackradio.com, Radio Webphre and his own podcast & label, House Salad Music, featuring the best DJs in house music. He is in his 700th episode of HSM podcast and has yet to put one of his own mixes on this platform.

Convinced of the timelessness of music, his mixes are a real tunnel of time, where he plays classics combined with the freshest of modern house.

ish compilation series continues. For the second volume, we're going deep! Deep-ish.

Thru out the release history of Local Talk we've always enjoyed the deeper cuts and made sure there's plenty available. There's several that became big and got massive praise, like Atjazz 'Fox Tooth" Atjazz Galaxy Aart Dub..it is timeless, or Northern Reach by Fish Go Deep. That's the type of house music that gets played in submarines. You also have Kindimmer's "Shadow And Construction", a favorite among many fine producers like Disclosure and Juan Atkins to name a few.

There's also a few hidden gems - "Bitter Love" by The True Rebels which is Peter Oakden and our good friend Ricky Reid aka The James L'Estraunge Orchestra and 1/2 of Soul Renehades released many years ago. MVK by Esa & Mervin Granger is a blue print of deep house that has the Prescription sound written all over it. Plus there's plenty more, don't just dip the toe, dive in. Go deep.

Delivered by label boss, Dave Platts, it’s a perfect blend of highs and lows as he takes us through the motions with deep flavours from Frits Wentink and Keita Sano perfectly contrasted with uplifting tones from Sweet Fruity Brunch, Nebraska and Tree Threes, the latter of which featuring twice on the mix with some great new and forthcoming music by way of the Moment Cinetique label. Selected Timbres is back once more with another amazing mix from one of my favorites in the game. I've known Dave Platts for around 4 years now through our time together on The Underground Sessions Radio. My respect and admiration for Dave spans very far and deep as he's label boss for Moment Cinetique, and a genuinely great guy. Moment Cinetique is known for being home to deep, jazzy disco tunes from the likes of Intr0beatz, Cassettes for Kids, and Never Dull.  

One thing I really respect about Dave is his demeanor and approach to music. He truly treats it like a passion, and does things with intention and it comes from a place of true appreciation. Never rushing to put things out just to try and stay relevant, but always taking care and time to source the right artists.

Aside from his curation skills showcased in Moment Cinetique, I've always loved tuning in to a mix from Dave when I found the time. Carve out an hour to check this one out as you get ready for a night out, or while your cooking, or doing literally anything.. its just a nice collection of music to enjoy.
