Soul Craft Vol. 39 // PJOTR

Greg O'Connell aka BALMR is a DJ/Producer hailing from Cork City, Ireland. 
In his own words: 'It was difficult to escape the sound of House Music growing up in Cork'
He was heavily influenced by the sounds on the pirate station 'Radio Friendly' and tales of the infamous Sweat Nights with Greg and Shane (aka Fishgodeep) at the legendary Sir Henrys club. 
As an avid record collector from an early age, he began to play locally and then internationally, frequenting Amsterdam hotspots while hosting his Down Right Deep show on Deep House Radio. 
He always had a personal love for the Detroit sound e.g., Norm Talley, Mike Huckaby, Delano Smith, Moodymann etc,. and naturally moved into production.
He has had numerous releases and remixes in his catalogue on labels such as Nordic Trax, Kolour Detroit and Expanded Records as well as working on mixing for other artists on labels like Yore.

He is also one of half of the duo 'Southbounds Sounds', having recently featured as a guest on Lars Behrenroths DSOH show. 
BALMR has several other upcoming projects this year, including 2  vinyl only releases with one on 'Selections Label' out of Toronto featuring a remix from Glenn Davis, and another on Deeper Groove with his fellow collaboration partner Deep Excavations, featuring a remix from John Daly.

Nahomi has been immersed in electronic music since her early childhood. Based in Switzerland for 15 years, music is a family affair. Raised on vinyl, she knew how to forge her musical education between house, techno, soul, hip hop, and more sustained sounds. 
Her house-oriented musical selection is both energetic and emotional, always with the desire to surprise and create a communicative atmosphere with her audience.

Having made their debut EP in 2021 with "Psalms", their second EP, "Pasteleira" has just dropped via their own "O Sotão Records" - a 5-track coming-of-age record that pays homage to where they come from: the expressions they use, the nightclubs they go to, the culture that pervades them, and their neighborhood, just as it is at this point in time, without any judgment.

And that is what I've always received from Denis Kazakov. While operating the label at a consistently quality, and prolific level, Denis has been in my sights for some time now. 

From their most recent release of breaks, electro from Minor Sine Project, spanning back to one of their first from 2XM with atmospheric 2-step sounds. Truly expansive with their sound, their geographical reach, and how they approach this thing called music.
