Damon began DJing at the age of 17, and was quickly immersed in New Zealand's UK influenced bass scene. His move to Amsterdam in 2015 connected him with his Dutch roots and introduced him to Europe's rich history of house, techno, break-beat, and Electronic music. He has now returned to Aotearoa, and we are so stoked to welcome him on the show with this mix of recent finds.

In a sea of thousands of dance music labels, Gottwood Festival have proven their worth with their Gottwax imprint. Their compilations EP1 and EP2 have boasted seminal summertime numbers from Ruf Dug, Cottam, Rob Amboule and more. Now, Gottwax's forthcoming EP3 consists of four new tracks cut on bright orange acetate by Ponty Mython, Krywald & Farrer and Bonar Bradberry – and a welcome return for Appleblim. Relishing in our fortune to have a first listen, it is the four-four iridescence of Appleblim's "Phosphene" that stands out most. An epic homecoming for the Bristolian producer who has otherwise kept relatively quiet as of late, setting sail suitably on the third Gottwax ship.

the result of challenge by Gatekeeper to see who could make a mentasm tune quickest and best! haaa, not sure who won! Had a wicked little version with a VIP vocal from Riko Dan of Roll Deep (one of my fave ever MCs) on it which unfortunately because of my weird arrangement he came in on a beat late for the whole tune : ( so near and yet so far! woulda sounded sick too!

Featherstone is set to release a gorgeous EP on Ernest's Way, four tracks of sublime quality electro music. At times tinged with beautiful delicacy and textures which tug at the heartstrings. This one is not to be missed.

On the 12th of April 1961, Yuri Gagarin was launched into orbit for the first and - so they tell us - the last time. Upon returning to Earth, Yuri became a global hero, travelling the world to tell of his adventure. Secretly, he was plagued by strange hallucinations and a persistent glow around his vision; a cornucopia of colour in a constant corona. At first fearing madness, the cosmonaut came to see these apparitions as a signal, an invitation, a welcoming beacon from a distant lighthouse blinking across the cosmic void. 

Taking inspiration from early Detroit techno culture, under the moniker Tony Neptune Leeds-based producer and artist Sam Jefferies is on a mission to tell a multi-sensory story through image, sound and text. A talented DJ and part of the Dimensions DJ Directory family, Sam has become synonymous with deep diving marathon sets both as Tony Neptune and as Yuri, solo or alongside fellow Leeds stalwart Mark 'Turbo' Turner.

After working hard on his production efforts over the last few years, his debut EP Reflections on a Daring Escape is finally seeing the light of day on Twelve Comets. Both sonically and aesthetically (Sam's visual work as a painter is at the core of the release), the 4-track release journeys deep into the cosmos, touching on the more celestial, emotive elements of electro and techno.
