Erik K Skodvin's alter persona “Svarte Greiner” re-appears with another chapter in his “zen music for disturbed souls” series, channeling both spiritual distress and meditation in a live recording from the bunkers of a bombed out brewery.

Ian Hawgood and James Murray began Slow Reels in 2018 from studios in London and Warsaw. The early work involved exchanging heavily modulated long-form textures, recorded on a variety of instruments, notably vintage synths. Reiterative digital manipulations and successive destructive passes through an end-of-life reel-to-reel tape setup resulted in a collection of entirely unrepeatable drone suites.

Their debut Farewell Islands for Morr Music was met with widespread critical acclaim. Sustain, presented now by Fluid Audio, extends the force of this uncompromising aesthetic further, as the artists’ shared medium further degenerates into overwhelming, full-frequency emotion.

This immersive collaboration between the UK based musician, Andrew Heath and French musician, Christian Wittman charts a musical voyage that explores themes of great tides that rise and fall and of air currents that flow between lands and seas. 

Dense clouds and currents of electronic sound are permeated with sharp, pin-pricks of percussion and modular noises with drifting piano, both electric and acoustic along with guitar notes that float above the maelstrom. All bound with field recordings that resonate sympathetically alongside the drifting tones. 

Sometimes light, sometimes dark - evoking the contrast between the apparent calm of the sea, and the dynamics and flows that unfold, both in depth and in the air, creating organic and immersive soundscapes, aerial and underwater at the same time. 


As well as many solo releases under his own name, Andrew has collaborated with artists including legendary German musician, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, experimental electronic and classical composer, Christopher Chaplin, Dutch ambient guitarist, Anne Chris Bakker, Argentinian composer Mi Cosa de Resistance and UK artists, Toby Marks (Banco de Gaia), James Osland and Simon McCorry. Zen Lemon’s album “Notations 74” offers an ambient cinematic experience designed to create a serene and immersive listening journey. Instead, it blends cinematic elements with soothing ambient sounds to transport listeners to a tranquil, otherworldly space. This album can be a powerful tool for exploring and managing emotions, especially during challenging times. The combination of cinematic and ambient features provides a soothing backdrop for reflection and meditation. Consequently, as music often evokes deep emotions and offers comfort, “Notations 74” serves as a valuable companion in difficult moments.

We are excited to welcome Australian artist Moontide to the Earthly Measures family with his truly beautiful EP 'Dreams Within Dreams' including remixes from Kusht and ourselves.

Dreams Within Dreams is built entirely from field recordings captured in churches, temples, and other places of ritual. The EP marks Moontide's use of exclusively analog synthesisers for the drums and melodies, which respond to these recorded environments.

The work explores the acoustic properties of these intentional spaces, their reverbs, silences, and ambient textures. Each track layers these field recordings with analog synthesis, creating compositions that exist somewhere between documentation and interpretation.
