Me and HideKy collaborated to make a heavy drum and bass song with his awesome djent!

When making this, we want to make it brash, aggressive, and powerful. So I decided to make drum & bass, with its base composition and length. I gave it to him, and when he came back to me suddenly, because of usage the Phrygian usage and his djent influence, sounds really exotic like many popular heavy metal song, it is very coarse.

It only took me 4 years to finish this idea, but I'm happy with the result. A particularly interesting fusion of orchestral and electronica.

Whirlwind

Alright, I have a lot to say about this one.

I've essentially pushed what little mixing/mastering skills I have to the limit with this track. I've attempted to incorporate much stronger bass and percussion than usual,
and overall intended to create a more powerful song. I'm not confident at all in the end result, but I'm completely sick of spending hours tweaking it. So here it is.

The intro was based on Livewire's "Fading Light." This was originally an attempt to replicate the intro because I liked it a lot, but I decided to elaborate upon it.

This is also my first time using my own sounds with NI Massive, so the bass sounds kind of amateur to me. I dunno.

I'm also unsatisfied with how un-melodic this piece is compared to my other work, and so I want to make something heavily melody based next song. Probably an Orchestral-DnB
hybrid.
