Approaching Troy is alternative/pop/punk rock band from Long Island NY.  With big plans and dreams of making their mark on the historic Indie Rock scene of their native Long Island, NY, Approaching Troy undoubtedly has an uphill challenge to achieve that goal. The music of Long Island has always had a long history with many famous indie bands leaving their mark.  The faint echos of that Revolution (predecessors Taking Back Sunday, Glassjaw, Dream Theater, Bayside and Brand New) can barely be heard these days around the suburban towns they were born in.  However, if the reaction from their loyal fans at live shows and the excitement over their soon-to-be released EP, “Dear Sadie” (a testament to the band’s potential as an Alternative/Pop/Punk/Post-Hardcore Rock leader) is any indication of a revitalization of that scene, then rest assured Approaching Troy is here to stay and ready to make their mark. 
 
The band started as a solo project for lead singer/rhythm guitarist Jake Salazar.  After months of writing, Jake decided to form a band with friends he knew who could carry the sound and vision he imagined for the band.  After trial and error and a few lineup changes, Approaching Troy was born.  For weeks after their first performance the band was the talk of the town bringing in fans from all over Long Island.  Since then, the band has played numerous shows to adoring fans in the Long Island, NY area, was featured in the newly redesigned "Get Signed Magazine" and the infamous Smartpunk.com as a featured artist.  The band has opened up for and supported legends of their genre like "Hawthorne Heights", "Red Jumpsuit Apparatus", "Ventetian Fair" and "The Ataris" just to name a few.  The band released their first official single "Star Crossed Lovers" off their album "Somnium" back in 2012 which caught the ears of industry and adoring fans alike for it's driving rock rhythm rhythms, pop sensibilities and memorable hooks.  Hooking up with their current managing firm Night Roads Entertainment Inc. back in the Spring of 2014, the band was off to bigger and better things. A 2015 mid-winter northeast mini tour, their first, was planned and executed with tremendous success and their new EP is set for release in late Winter of 2015 with even more buzz around it promised.
