A Drone. When we talk about a Drone music App, we think about an App where the only thing we have to do, once the sound has been set, is to Tap the play button... Drone allows you to work in another way... First, you have 5 instrument modules (Drone comes with a very well stocked sound library). You will be able to set the Volume, Pan, Density and Duration, as well as the Attack, Sustain and Release for each instrument. At the top of the screen, there is a timeline and 6 "Chord" buttons. You can set the chords by tapping these buttons as well as the number of repeats. Let me explain... Drone Fx will play a 24 bar pattern if the number of repeats for each chord is set to 1. It will play a 96 bar pattern if the number of repeats is set to 4 for each chord (24 x 4). A little arrow on the left allows you to select the next chord that will be played, Another button (on the right hand side) will randomize the chords. Ok, up to here, we can say that drone Fx is a "normal" Drone App. But there is another little keyboard shaped button, at the bottom of the screen, on each module... Tap it and a keyboard appears... Tap them on each module, and play on all 5 keyboards! Great! Awesome! I really love Drone Fx. A great idea, a very well done App, a beautiful UI, and the generated atmosphere is wonderful (you can easily create an ambiance close to the  Space Wiz synth...). I really love Drone Fx. Despite all this, I would really love to have more features like the following: Multitasking, the possibility to record and share my performances or even better the implementation of Audiobus. Virtual Midi or even a 5 track Midi sequencer. A built in metronome or even a little Drum Machine module... Ok... I'll stop there!... I really love Drone Fx, I rate it as a Killer App because I'm fond of the Drone's App, I love its "Unique" side... Listen to the Audio demo and watch the Video and make up your own mind... :-)

Drone FX

Recorded and mixed in Auria for iPad, Guitars and bass recorded with JamUp Pro XT (left channel: Bogner, right channel: Marshall 900, lead: Orange, bass: GK800.  AudioMastering app used for final mixdown.  Drums are custom set sequenced in Beatmaker 2.  Audiobus was used to route JamUp to Auria.
