Fresh from producing for rap legend Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) on his long-awaited Negus project, Steven Julien continues to pay homage to his hip-hop roots for the next offering on Apron Records. Few people know that Julien's musical journey began as an MC in rap group The Dungeonaires during his early teens before production eventually became his main interest. 

______ is a collaboration with Long Beach local and The Natives rapper, Senay Kenfe — a musician, photo-journalist and local community organiser who has spent over 15 years working on grassroots, cultural projects including documenting the graffiti scenes of Brazil and Egypt to leading clean water filtration schemes in Ethiopia. 

The pair first linked up during back-and-forth hang-outs between London and LA. The seed of the alliance was sown when Senay heard the instrumental for "Osiris" on an episode of The Apron Show on NTS Radio and reached out to write to it.

Here we have the headline slot from our Deep Cuts event, an absolute treat for heads and head space seekers alike. NTS legend @marshmello - whose 'Midnight Marauders' show was the first to be broadcast on the station - hasn't been able to do her show over lockdown, resulting in a deeply expressive, beautifully crafted 20:00-22:00 set, charting gradual entry into a warm, promising solar sphere. 

In keeping with the vibe of our Deep Cuts editorial series, all of our DC event's sets had a theme, reflected by an artwork created on the spot, in front of the decks, though MarshmeLLo being headliner meant she got TWO, from Loose Lips crewmen Jasper Golding (https://bit.ly/38NoOX0) and Trav (https://bit.ly/2Uswgi7).

@sologemini takes you on the journey through unmade beds and tiny, affordable, apartment spaces. 

'Master Bedroom' is a tribute to bedroom producing as a manifest of DIY culture, where all you need is minimum of tools and maximum of imagination. Nothing really matters when it comes to being focused on what you love. The tape is self-compilation down the hip-hopish beats inspired by different (often old) recordings (jazz, latin grooves, cinema fx...etc) and capabilities of selected VST plugins. 

The remixes from dream-team: Tamten, Fopa and Ivan Bayor dots the 'I' of diversity.
