Known for their boundary pushing, often challenging electronic productions, and pioneering experiential live performances, the duo of Sheffield's Mark Fell and Mat Steel deviated from their city's tradition for more straightforward bleep and techno offshoots to create sparse, minimal and repetitive competitions that favour gentle insistence over high impact.

Brian Leeds has spent a decade exploring electronic music’s murky corners under a range of aliases – from blown-out house and ambient to deep-fried trap and drill. As Loidis, he released one of 2024’s best albums, the minimalist dub techno LP ‘One Day’. 

Now, returning to his primary @huerco_s handle, the Philadelphia-based shapeshifter records a two-hour mix of rhythmic psychedelia for DJ Mag's Recognise series, and speaks to Michael McKinney about his family ties to the Jersey Devil, growing up in bands, his West Mineral Ltd. label, and learning to slow down.

Freerotation 2018 : The House Of Crocodiles (Live Recording)

Streets 1:10 visualizes a society pushed past the limits of consumption. Aliens - which, as it turns out, look a lot like the little green beings we've always imagined them as - have completed their first successful landing on a distant blue planet. "We come in peace!" they exclaim after transcribing the local language... unfortunately they're too late to help. Those still living on the planet appear to be subsisting off of round pieces of phonographic plastic that survived societal breakdown.
