"série de mixe" is the name of a new mix series I will be putting on. This series will feature mixes from people that are close to me and will hopefully be a showcase for everybody's journey musical journey and a place to share and exchange on music. It was only natural that I would be doing the first mix and this one features a lot of soulful, funky and jazzy stuff from the 70's and early 80's that I've jamming to a lot during the past winter. Its time to really Jazz up your friday! We've got @delfonic in this week and what a mix he's given us! Jazz-Funk-Fusion through the roof!

Delfonic is a partner at one of Berlin's most prestigious record shops, OYE who now have two outlets, one in Prenslauer Berg and the other in Neukölln, OYE has become an established outlet for disco, soul, house, hip-hop and more, as well as being a home for organic DJ talent that garnered a deserved reputation throughout the European clubbing circuit. 

As a champion of new music and sounds, Delfonic has been setting new trends within today’s modern music scene. He’s the man behind the labels Box aus Holz, Torben and Money $ex Records, and is responsible for bringing some of today’s contemporary talent into the limelight, including Max Graeff, Glenn Astro, Alex Seidel and more. Delfonic holds down residencies OHM and Club Gretchen while frequenting the capital’s leading venues Salon zur wilden Renate and Panorama Bar. More recently, Delfonic was responsible for taking the OYE brand across the continent with a tour alongside Rhythm Section Records, visiting some of Europe’s more esteemed venues.

Morning Mix Jumpstart II

The first cocktail in 2019 is a pure classic. And, it is the national cocktail of Brazil. Since we don’t leave anything to chance we engaged an incredible Brazilian talent to mix a Caipirinha for Schirmchendrink. 

Gabriel Belmudes, a Brazilian DJ and producer, who is originally from São Paulo and currently based in Canada. He has been on the rise with his exquisite sounds over the last years and is spreading his art internationally at renowned venues and festivals. 

He’s in love with touching melodies and groovy tribal beats. You find these hypnotic „jungle vibes“ in all of his sets. Gabriel once said, that these tribal sounds remind him of where he’s coming from. And that you can almost always find people dancing, grooving, or jamming to samba or some kind of drumbeat in Brazil - whether it’s at home, on the streets, or in bars. 

Gabriel’s Caipirinha is full of this lively energy, full of good and catchy vibes. It only takes a few sips and you immediately want to shake off this energy with some moves on a dance floor. 

2018 was the year of Gabriel’s first release on the mighty Sol Selectas label. „Canto de Seraia“ was part of the Summer Sol III sampler. And there might be new releases coming soon as Gabriel is taking some time off to focus on his productions this year.

We are excited to see what 2019 brings for the sonic storyteller and world traveller.

Caio Bonneau, bartender from Brazil, mixed the beautiful Caipirinha on the artwork. It is Caio’s own version feat. a local species of lime and mandarin leaves. It won the first price at a cocktail contest in Brazil. Check him out on www.instagram.com/bonneaubartender for more delicious cocktails.

We thank Dom aka Aqua Marina, the legend behind some of our favourite ever digs, and key player in the infamous Montreal gang for number 11 in the series. A familiar face in his home city, you might spy Dom in amongst the crates by day, and hammering it out at your favourite club by night. This special mix is a little longer - as it should be! It touches on some of Dom’s favourite genres, both in depth and in style, from reggae to zouk to house. Tune in for a masterclass in laid-back beats and dance-floor treats.
