ARBOU-Broken Tape [DARK NATURE CONCEPT]

To create this song was a very important process for me, as the track helped me cope with some heartbreaking news in my family — a young girl from my stepmother’s family, who was about to turn 18, took her own life. She had been suffering in silence for years. Such pain, such confusion, such deep sadness. Through this track, I tried to put into music what I was feeling in the midst of this tragedy. Before she passed, she had written a prayer. I hope this piece of music accompanies her, and that she finds peace wherever she is now.

"What is your relationship to water?

Over fifty to sixty-five percent of our body is water (generally speaking). Ninety-seven percent of the water on Earth is salt water; the water found in the Earth’s lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, swamps, etcetera accounts for only 0.3 percent of the world’s fresh water. The rest is trapped in glaciers or is in the ground.

We are currently witnessing our indigenous brothers & sisters in North Dakota battling the oil industry & the DAPL. Their main reasoning is for safe drinking water. When the Europeans first came to North America, one could drink out of rivers. Water is sacred and needs to be treated as such."
