For a Uni assignment, the same one as 'Letting Abigail Go',  I was given a chord progression and tasked with creating an upbeat piano accompaniment that could be taken and used underneath a melody. Hope you enjoy it!

Falling For Abigail

'Comet' is about a new star with strange properties that turns up out of nowhere. It was the first piece I wrote, as a surprise birthday present for my partner (I was surprised I could write anything at all). The piece began from doodling around on the piano and really liking the opening chords, which just reminded me of Alex for some reason.

Computer Party

This was for Cecilia and James' wedding. They had planned an outdoor ceremony and reception for Covid reasons, but the forecast seemed to say it would rain. I was quite anxious for them, and realised it was the only thing I was thinking about when I decided to compose a piece as a wedding present. 

So this is a wish for the kind of weather they would have, mostly sunshowers, and showing it would be fine if it was sunny and fine if it rains too(you know like life).

Just as a record of what I was thinking about:
The beginning part is looking out of a window in the morning on a grey sky with a few drops landing on the glass. Then there's some sunshine, then some heavy rain. At the end there's a kind of love-conquers-all wedding march.

I exported it late the night before the wedding and never quite finished it - I need to fix it up!
