In the last few years, there has been a local trend in Egypt of opening restaurants that have taken Egyptian street food and added a modern twist to it. Chris Khalifa is one of the people who set this trend when he opened his widely popular restaurant, Zooba, three years ago. After working in banking for six years, he started looking for a successful business idea that would take off and he found it in the streets of Egypt. He took what could be described as the "working man's food" and turned it into fine dining. Listen to this excerpt of my interview with him to find out how he did it.
