A combination of interviews, field recordings, original compositions made in collaboration with @franciscomorganmusic and Ankit Suri woven together with experimental electronic sounds from artists from the Middle East and North Africa in order to shed light on the political situation in these countries.

Aired as a Guest Show on Refuge Worldwide, Berlin on 14/11/2022.

For those who do not know them yet: Refuge began in 2015 as a fundraising platform working in solidarity with grassroots and non-profit organizations across Berlin.

Refuge Worldwide radio was launched in 2021 to amplify the music and issues that we care about, broadcasting remotely out of Neukölln.

They are a non-commercial independent platform, amplifying voices and creating unity in the community.

RIFF RUFF [Radio] #016 on LyL Radio - 15/11/22

A split 12” with four soulful and danceable IDM jams by Lucita Octans and DJ Lifegoals. The opening track Aegian Chrome features phat bassline, funky breakbeat and otherworldly synths. The other Lucita track Last Lane Shuffle gets busier with intricate rhythms and synth riffs that tell a surreal story. On the flipside, Anesthz starts with a rough uptempo breakbeat and slowly introduces a super soulful and funky bass pattern alongside some choice pads. The second DJ Lifegoals track Parallax Vision introduces ultra-funky bassline and develops into a rich tapestry of sound. These warm hardware jams really put the letter “D” back to IDM!

Black Box 3 is based on sound pieces produced for Sprækker (Cracks), a dance performance & installation in Denmark, 2021.

Menzurrr, a Сzernowitz based selector, Gasoline Radio resident and host of a migrating weekly 2hrs show called UA ear-catching overwrought focused on Ukrainian dj's and musicians, is known for his "genreless" approach.

Gasoline Radio bi-weekly show is called No-Go-Zone and is aimed at bombarding the listener with marginal-obscure weirdness and journeys beyond musical canons. Also he is an Aaja Music resident (second Thursday of every month at 11 am - 1 pm on channel 2).
