Next up in the radio series is a very special podcast by Ongehoord, aka Onno Clap! Onno, the brother of Gustav Goodstuff who runs @midlight, dug deep into the Dutch history of electronic music, and on his search he found many undiscovered pearls of synthesized exotica. The mix was recorded in his home studio using his two pitch controlled cassette players. Below is the list of artists included in the mix + more background info provided by Onno. Prof. Einstein & Muziekkamer come from the cassette Colonial Vipers. Released by Trumpett in 1982. All home made recordings, Distributed by Kubus Kassettes.

King Ende Shneafliet was the first cassette made by what later became Ende Shneafliet, Doxa Sinistra. Released in 1981. Officially limited to only 10 cassette's.  

Hero Wouters is a Dutch artist who has been active since 1950. Through the years he has been involved in many (music) projects. His work in the field of electronic music ranges from synthpop to experimental music. Some people might know him from his collaborations with The Legendary Pink Dots and Edward Ka-Spel. Other people might know him from his contributions to the obscure Contactdisk vinyl series or his appearance on the legendary Dutch Ding-Dong tape label.

The soundtrack to a 1983 movie by George Schouten. The comment on IMDB sounds interesting although I never saw the movie: "OK and strangely laid back Dutch thriller about a woman with fear of open spaces, who finds refuge in a masochistic relationship with an ex-colleague of her husband.

There is not much known about Enno Velthuys. This has to do with the fact that he was quite a recluse. Hessel Veldman however knew him personally and shared the following memories about Enno Velthuys: ''In that period, Enno was living with his mum in his own bedroom in a department flat in The Hague. Visiting Enno was something special. Strange in communication, weird focusing on music in general and solitary-minded. During one visit I remember, we tried to make some music together, because we both played the guitar and were into strange ambient music. It didn't work out. Enno was specific in encountering msuic. He couldn't deal with strange and dissonant sounds. His mind could only handle harmonic soft kitsch-like music. After learning Enno better, we noticed he had very heavy mental problems, caused by drug use during the roaring sixties in The Hague music scene.

Technical notes: This tape was designed to be listened at lower volumes than usual. For this reason, the bass frequencies have been boosted to create a fuller response overall. For more listening pleasure at higher volumes, it is suggested the bass tone controls be rolled back some. 

This tape was recorded using Dolby B noise reduction. However, systems and machines as well as listening environments vary (headphones vs. ambient room settings), therefore individual discretion is advised and determining the optimum listening conditions. Tone controls should be likewise adjusted. "

This new release from HELP presents music from various HELP-related artists. Another release from the Århus-imprint that doesn’t directly state “club-proof”, but still, this one wouldn’t mind having a spin or two by your local dance-pusher. The opening track is by Central; a fresh house tune with both melodies and good-vibes - maybe the closest this young man has come to making an anthem. Next up is the 4 piece group Maizena with a ambiguous rhythmical ambient-house jam from the area of Denmark where it rains the least. On the B-side you’ll find a raw and to the point recording of DJ Sports and C.K joining PH1 in his throwback techno-studio in the suburbs of Århus. Next up is the long awaited debut from Manmade Deejay, who has been cooking a floating rhythm jam for this 5 course meal of modern danish cuisine. Last but not least Amsterdam-based KAAP joined Central on a fine day at Rubber Studios to create this dreamy and galloping ride.  All in all this genuine piece of wax if filled with local devotion and love from the HELP-crew.
