The mega-talented TRC2 is back with another EP of epic beats. The opener Age of Insecurity sets the experimental tone with ever-changing rhythms and ethereal atmospherics. Impossible Shifts keeps the ethereal nature and layers it with more rolling breaks and beautiful melodic stabs before Shadowy Forces assaults the listener with discordant piano timbres and an onslaught of layered breaks. The EP ends on the equally magnificent Star-Forming where the mood changes to lighter tones as soaring pads and melodic stabs sit serenely over the forever twisting breaks. TRC2 is showing himself to be an immense talent and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us next.

S - Capade got into the sound of hardcore jungle in the early nineties. Based on his background as a drummer he supported many DJ sets and then soon after became a DJ himself. Starting out his new found vocation he played a number of pirate Radio stations in Europe and swiftly moved onto the underground club scene. Adding to the DnB industry further he started promoting events and soon after became part owner and resident DJ at the legendary Massive Tunes and Oxygen events in Aachen, Germany.

Well this show is something different to the norm Bass Scoops stuff, it’s a Myriad Recordings and Smooth and Groove Records special edition I  recorded  live interviews at their joint club night in the summer of 2024 in Whitney UK.

The night  was a  bit of  a who’s who of proper drum and bass and we got to interview the artists playing on the night  alongside the people at the labels and club that helped make such a great night come together. This September, we are honoured to release his third album on the label, and his second solo endeavour, which serves as a seamless continuation of his earlier work. His 2020 album, ‘Oeuvre’, represented years of dedication and refined production, solidifying Mako's esteemed place within the Metalheadz family.

Now, four years later, we’re thrilled to present ‘Oeuvre – Part 2’. This 12-track album is a celebration of Mako’s deep passion for music, while also reflecting his sometimes disillusioned views on a modern era that often seems to pass us by. In a world where individuality can struggle to shine amidst an overwhelming flood of content, Mako’s superior production stands out as a beacon, demanding not just recognition, but active listening.

Mako’s commitment to his musical community is evident throughout the album, with contributions from long-time collaborators Fields, Hydro, Villem, and Mikal, each bringing their unique expertise to the project. The album also features a special collaboration with the late Marcus Intalex, a friendship that blossomed in the years before Marcus’ untimely passing and one that continues to bear fruit.

Diving into the heart of the album reveals Mako’s charm as a producer: from the captivating vocals in ‘Feed You’, the sleek homage to techstep in "Suspension’, to the pure dancefloor energy of ‘Direct Source’, a track long favoured by Goldie. As expected, Mako also delivers deeper, more contemplative pieces like the album’s opener ‘True Expression’ and the graceful melodies of ‘Overshare’.

DJ Ink story : 

An architect first visualizes then realises, making something out of nothing, making sure that not only the object itself shines but also the space around it. The sound is moulding, shaping and morphing at the hands of Dj Ink... 

The year is 1990 and a young Dj Ink has solidified his love for the culture known as hip hop- as the years move on so does UK street music, there are new genres forming and Ink begins to hear what is familiar to him, but there is a new twist-It is the UK passing by the USA, with a huge dose of African and Jamaican influence, This is music to a budding Dj Ink's ears, he naturally becomes involved and it doesn’t take too long before he begins to make his mark. 

First begins the Pirate radio circuit. Working hard at his craft and allowing the followers to get familiar with the roll, steadily bookings began to build up and soon it would be time for Ink to become associated with three names that changed the landscape of British electronic music-Basement Records, and slightly later Metalheadz and Renegade Hardware. Ink would go onto form his own imprint- Architecture Recordings, releasing anthems from himself and various crew members, bringing through new talent and the cream of the heavy hitters within drum n bass. If you're familiar with drum n bass/jungle you’ll know instantly the weight these labels carry, and if you're not by just scratching the surface you’ll become aware of the impact they have had. Renegade Hardware & Metalheadz are two commitments Dj Ink has upheld to this day, through thick and thin, engraved in the wall of time.

Essential work includes 'The 50th (Blueprint)' (1st Drum and Bass/Jungle tune selected live by a dj (LTJ Bukem) on BBC Radio 1 essential DnB show ever!) and "Altitude" on Basement Records, ‘Feel da heat’ taken from the LP ‘Can u draw sound?’ on Architecture Recordings, ‘Kaos Theory EP’ on Renegade Hardware, ‘Shine’ on Metalheadz, and the now infamous posse cut ‘Instinct’ also on Architecture, this is just a small fraction by Ink that has made waves. 

The now famous "Horsemen" project was a concept headed up by Ink, Loxy, Dylan & Keaton. Originally formed due to the affinities amongst the original four, the crew went onto bring together producers from all over the globe under the "Horsemen" banner- beat makers who have been inspired by the foundations laid down by The Four Horsemen went on to receive acclaim from critics and music buyers alike.

Ink has four long players under his belt, In chronological order these are- Incision and Can You Draw Sound for Architecture Recordings, Hard Soul w/ Perpetuum for Colours Audio and the most recent: The Last Scroll for Renegade Hardware.  With these credits to his name it is fair to say DJ Ink has made his mark in DnB.
