Stuck in Traffic is olliray’s first album. The story begins in 2017 with the release of BoxRox, a small electronic idea that became the spark for everything that followed. Over the next two years the music grew slowly and naturally in a small flat in South London. Most of the songs began as simple synth sketches that later opened into fuller pieces with piano, guitar and voice.

The title came from a real moment in late 2018. Olliray was waiting for his dad to arrive for lunch. His dad was stuck in traffic and the delay gave him an unexpected pocket of time. In that quiet stretch he recorded all the vocals for the title track in one take. When his dad finally arrived he played him the music and asked what he should call it. His dad smiled and gave the answer that became the name of the whole album.

Stuck in Traffic holds the feeling of that early period. Raw, instinctive and made by ear. A blend of electronic textures and intimate melodies shaped between 2017 and late 2018, and released in January 2019.

For fans of synthwave, retrowave and 80s inspired electronic music.

"After playing my debut chill set on the magical Chill Stage in 2018 I was thrilled to be invited back this year. Playing straight after my long time collaborator and good friend J-Slyde, whose set just after sunrise meandered through warm blissed out beats and trip-hop, I wanted to incorporate some of my favourite modern classical, some downtempo beats and even some warm melodic dubby beats. Some old tunes, some new, some familiar, some obscure, all inspiring to me at some point in my life. The smiling faces on the dance floor filled me with joy as I played this set to help kick off what was a brilliant Saturday of music at Rainbow Serpent. Enjoy xx"

A year where no one saw this coming Wilma continued to collaborate & channel her energy into the craft that many needed to hear.

As she returns from the land of Elements, we can feel the buzz is still very fresh, full of love & appreciation as thousands embraced one of the first few returning festivals.  

In Wilma’s words  “A surprising curveball on Sunday night as the closing session was moved from Love Camp to the Main Stage at the last minute and what unfolded was hands down the highlight of my dj career. I’ve never had so much fun on stage and I am eternally grateful to have been given the opportunity to serenade such a large, vibing audience.”
