"Proteus" serves as our first introduction to Monto, an Ireland-based newbie with a love for braiding hip hop, jazz and grime into cosmic, brain whirring instrumentals. A truly extraterrestrial entrant, “Proteus” slinks in with drumless, stretched-out rapper ad-libs for the first minute or two. Skittering hi-hats and percussion duly join the party soon after, but its the bout of otherworldly pads that really earn this track its stripes.

It’ll find a home on SertOne’s Liverpool based imprint, Fly High Society, which also houses the likes of Iglooghost, Tehbis and Almighty Sion. Keep your eyes peeled for its release both digitally and on cassette (tape & digital, with a few bonus tracks tape only) in March.

We're happy to see South London's Hear Other Sounds jump back on the work horse again. Following a short break away, the UK bass-devoted stable are confidently striding into their tenth release and warning, it's hella grimy.

Glasgow's Fresh Paul gets the call up for the Blue Knuckle EP - a three track episode of bullish grime shockwaves. The title track is our pick of the litter, and one that should come heavily coiled in yellow and black hazard tape. Throughout the three minute joyride, corrosive bass and panning glacial synths flit about within layers of shadowy pitter-patter of drumwork. Serious head nod business for the mandem.

We're hoping you don't need spelling out why this was great, but just in case you have missed an entire movement in electronic music:  Logos 's 2013 album  Cold Mission  on Keysound was one of the defining records of the new instrumental grime generation, and along with  Mr Mitch 's  Parallel Memories  is conclusive proof that this sound can and does work in the long-play format. We're naturally excited about a new release, and the new EP on Different Circles, complete with freaky ambient sections and a  Shapednoise  remix, doesn't disappoint in the slightest. It's  out on the 18th May .

Originally Mr. Klaus Schulze, the well-known contemporary of Edgar Froese and pioneer of electronic music was invited to play in the Szczecin Philharmonic Hall(Poland) in June 2016, but unfortunately had to cancel the concert due to his severe state of health. So he suggested Tangerine Dream to perform in his stead, which the band thankfully accepted. The concert took place in a stunningly beautiful location within the framework of the SOUNDLab concert series. This special concert was the first official big concert for the three remaining TD members to perform live within the new period of THE QUANTUM YEARS, the period Edgar Froese, founder and head of Tangerine Dream until his death in January 2015, still had the chance to introduce in Australia in 2014.

Thorsten, Ulrich and Hoshiko chose a series of well-known and popular TD tracks, but also came up with many new arrangements and some very new tracks from their QUANTUM KEY EP. Enjoy listening to a great live concert in Poland in a special atmosphere and with a wonderful audience. Dedicated to Edgar.
