I was trying to make a new pad for the next track i'm still working on.  
I liked this sound and thought that, with some tuning, it would also fit for a more ambient track.
So i made this one, probably the most ambient, dark and sophisticated track i've ever made.
Hope you like it.

In search of a special atmosphere and trying to create something original Benjamin Finger made this mix full of influences. This is a highly personal mix, about 50% of the material are Benjamin Fingers own productions (from other albums, rare remixes, b-sides, unreleased material etc…) and the other half is music that has been very influential for him. He has also added vocal loops, some synths and field recordings into the mix an took the liberty to mix very different genres, which makes this podcast even more exciting….

Benjamin Finger is a composer, electronic music producer, DJ, photographer and film-maker based in Oslo, Norway. Since his 2009 debut solo album “Woods of Broccoli”, he has produced a prolific output of films and music with a healthy disregard for genres. Benjamin was educated at Oslo Photo Art School before he started to study fiction film to become a director at the Film and TV Academy (NISS) in Oslo. Since then he has done several music videos and participated at various photo exhibitions, besides working for television. He is now a freelancer working within the field of music and film. Finger´s moving-image works combine lush Super 8 imagery with ambient soundtracks, which blend to create a hypnotic, sublime minimalism.

His debut album “Woods of broccoli” was released on How Is Annie Records in 2009. The follow up “For you, sleepsleeper" was released in 2010. 2013 saw the light of a new album called “Listen to my nerves hum” on Time Released Sound. "The Bet" (Watery Starve Press) and "Mood Chaser" (Digitalis Recordings) was released in 2014. Besides his solo projects he also makes up one half of the electronica duo Beneva vs. Clark Nova.

Benjamin spends most of this time in the studio. His music changes ever so slightly on each release. The idea behind the music is to continue to search for new ways of expressions whether this is within ambient, electro acoustic compositions or more beat oriented material. His aim is to stay curious and open to new ways of transforming musical ideas.

About the Podcast by Mark Ward:
Like many people of my generation I have played the guitar since childhood dabbling with bass, drums and keyboards along the way. It is only in the last two or three years that I have experimented with field recordings and electronic music. (It might surprise you to learn that my track Aeolian Metrics is generated from nothing more than a single field recording of wind chimes, for instance).

This mix is loosely based on the changing of the seasons. From what has been a particularly bleak winter for me to the early signs of, “Resurgence”, in spring and ending with one of my own tracks made during the hottest part of summer last year in the island of Jersey's Capital town, St. Helier.
 The other artists I've included range from well known to the very little known. They are all people that have given me food for thought and cause for admiration and inspiration. I'd urge you to explore their work further and support them where possible.

3 veteran producers in the genre, Apocryphos, Kammarheit & Atrium Carceri, collaborate on this behemoth of an album. Each utilizing each others strengths to bring forth a dark and emotional ride through distant memories. 

Onyx is a soundscape journey related to the reflection of dispirited memories and obscure sorrows felt by mankind. With the multitude of techniques used by each artist, it also reflects the rich history of the dark ambient genre and how it has progressed through the decades. 

The signature analogue darkness of gargantuan caves of Kammarheit is combined with the sacral and emotional layering of Apocryphos and the rhytmical bass throbbing and isolated pianos of Atrium Carceri. 

This album was created by cross linking 3 studios in Oregon (US), Pennsylvania (US) and Umeå(Sweden). It took over 3800 lines of studio notes to finalize the album.
