Musketeer Records, an independent music company based in Johannesburg, South Africa, was formed in August 2000 by Brian O’ Shea and Peter Lacey. 

The philosophy of the company is quite simple: to identify the best local South African artists and music, sign and develop it to the best possible (and international) standard and to sell its music around the world. In short, to create the best possible boutique record and production company in South Africa.

Musketeer gained almost immediate success by signing, producing and releasing the debut album by Seether (nee Saron Gas) into the South African market in October 2000. Seether was subsequently subject to a bidding war in the US and was eventually signed by Wind Up Entertainment, in August 2001, for launch into the U.S. market.  

In the last ten years Seether have enjoyed top 10 success through the United States, Canada, Germany, France, South Africa, Australia and Japan with more than ten singles, five major movie synchronisations, two albums that have gone gold across the world and one that has gone platinum. Candîce was a Musketeer project for over two years and her project involved songwriters in USA, Australia and South Africa, with Candice herself co-writing 5 tracks on her debut album. The album, “Chasing Your Tomorrows”, was released to local critical acclaim in January 2003. The album was produced by in Australia by Clive Young  and mixed by Paul Gomersall (George Michael, Phil Collins), also in Australia. Musketeer then took Candice internationally and signed her to Sony UK in September 2003.

The Company has also had significant success across gaming software with Sugardrive (2004), Zola (2006), Heroes Wear Red (2009) and 7th Son (2010) all securing levels of involvement, either with in game music or direct sponsorship.

2010 has seen the company extend it’s reach directly into Europe and the USA with tours completed and planned for the rest of 2010 and well into 2011.  Eric Begala, once a Nelson Mandela praise singer, has also had a song released for the 2010 World Cup called “The Beautiful Game”.


Arc Light are a 4-piece Alternative Rock band from Liverpool, England. Consisting of James Whitehouse, Luke Hodgkinson, Tony Draper and Chris Thomason, Arc light play hard-hitting Rock music that draws influence from Foo Fighters, Audioslave and The Dave Matthews Band to name a few.

Capulet are a 5-piece post-hardcore band from Liverpool, UK, consisting of Lucy, Jay, Alex, Gary and Oli.

Drawing inspiration from such bands as The Used, I Am Ghost, A Day to Remember, Sleeping With Sirens, Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance and Pierce The Veil, Capulet have created a somewhat unique blend of music that will leave you slightly deaf, filled with rage, and longing for more.

Their monstrously catchy, incredibly hard-hitting tracks tie the knot between two worlds; the shadowy underworld ruled by the post-hardcore and metal genres, and the moving, angsty realms of emo/punk.

Capulet's self-titled debut EP combines electrifying guitar solos, spine-tingling combinations of screamed and clean vocals, and an overdose of atmosphere and attitude.

In and out of the Liverpool music scene since 2001. Once it was bands, other peoples music. For a long time since it's been acoustic gigs. Periods of silence are the products of hibernating to produce home recordings, which always announce emphatically that there is a bigger vision to be realised in this long process of 'getting there'. 
Music ranges from chorus-led pop anthems to introspective balladry to psychedelia and big guitar  - all of which contain vital hooks, grooves and vocal melodies that translate ultimately due to their emotional content.

I operate out Gamlehuset Studio, a small project studio in the Norwegian countryside, which I co-own. The studio offers everything from 1-on-1 teaching to full album production and I also use it to create my own music for film, advertising and band projects.

I am a fluent ProTools operator, and MIDI programmer and arranger. Over the years, I have gained both composition proficiency, and a an ability to take a basic song (chords, melody and lyrics) and, working with the artist, to refine the song and flesh it out into a full arrangement in any number of genres (the key ones being rock, acoustic, indie and pop).

My last big project was my first film score, for the film “All The Ordinary Angels”, based on the award winning Nick Leather play of the same name, and am itching to use this experience reach out into more film, TV and video games.

I am happy to discuss the prospect of being involved with just about anything and can work partially or entirely over the web as required, so don't feel restricted by your location.
