"Synergy" was written in 2009 for the group Eponymous, a sextet comprised of saxophone, trombone, guitar, piano, bass, and drums.  Though entirely in 4/4 time, the deceptive rhythms creating a rhythmic propulsion throughout the piece, upon which the angular melody is superimposed.
