If you are into all kinds of music, love performing then Morpeth Music Department has many different instruments, groups and bands to get involved with. In one of the largest and liveliest music departments in London, you can study a range of different musical styles and genres.Music plays an important role in the daily life at Morpeth, with all pupils being encouraged to participate in music-making and fostering musical ability at the highest level.  The department is a "Champion School" for Musical Futures with KS3 following this learning method. With concert bands, an orchestra, small chamber ensembles, rock bands, choirs, numerous music projects with outside agencies and more than 22 specialist music staff, the Music Department is one of the busiest and liveliest in the borough. In Sept 2011 our new facilities will include 2 state of the art ICT suites, a large recording studio with a separate control booth, additional smaller recording rooms, numerous practice rooms, classrooms with breakout spaces and a large performance theatre - one of the biggest and most up to date music departments in the country! We also offer free instrumental tuition, numerous bands, choirs, and ICT programmes to join plus FREE additional support for courses. Extra-curricular experiences include overseas trips, seminars and masterclasses. Over the past decade strong links have been formed with various outside agencies including Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Barbican Education,  The Academy of Contemporary Music, the London College of Contemporary Music, local primary schools and the Institute of Education as well as Industry sponsorship from brands such as Fender, Gretsch, Hofner and Roland.
