I'm enjoying the tones here... the occasional beat patterns with the different tones are interesting. looking forward to how you bring it all together.

This is a rough demo I recorded to see how the differently-tuned instruments work together.  I'm not really a gender player.

This is will eventually sit with a couple of other parts including electronics and vocals (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86qUu_k5Gm8 ) - at the moment all parts multi-tracked by myself: traditional gender, soft/hard beaters on gender for kenong, kempul+ gong, slenthem, and electronic gongs.  Since the instruments come from different sets I am exploring different techniques to emphasise some of the beating tones that occur when they're played together.

The recording was made in several takes on a Zoom H2, bouncing back and forth on Ableton Live, so it's quite noisy.  The gongs are based on a couple of sine waves generated in Max/MSP
