Jensen Interceptor with Ten Years Lost - 16 August 2022

Last February, you may have remembered Soria opening our launch party back in Hen’s Teeth, and now for the sixth in our mix series we are beyond words with delight to present to you this dreamy hour-long selection by the Dublin-based DJ and producer.  A recent graduate of the sculpture department at the National College of Art and Design, Soria is an incredible creative whose deeply considered process and output transcends artistic category.  Alongside her fine art practice, she is a ray of light within Dublin's nightlife as a beloved and prolific selector and producer.   Having played a vast range of venues and nights in Dublin including Strawberries (of which she recently became a resident DJ), Yamamori Tengu and Wigwam for Club Comfort amongst others as well as recently playing at Nick Libra’s performance piece 'Anatomy of Night' for Dublin Fringe Fest, Soria is a versatile and experienced live performer.   Her sets hit a deep emotive core that fuse with a playfulness and irreverence, epitomising both the sensitivity and radiant humour of Soria herself.  Capturing a transitional period from the hedonism of the summer into the cool breeze of Autumn this mix invites you to one last burst of pleasure in the sun.  Expect hypnotic vocals and bouncy trance beats. This one is special.

A collection of my favourite tracks from the 90s till now, capturing sexy, naughty, fast, percussive and diverse sounds. I find these tracks let me escape into a beautiful melodic dream fuelled by driving kicks, percussive rhythms and seductive vocals. The mix is centred on the feeling of freedom and liberation; to allow the listener to have a moment to escape reality and feel emancipated by music.

"I recorded this mix while I was going through a difficult emotional situation. And I feel like you can sense that dark energy throughout the whole mix. Nonetheless there are highs and there is playfulness in the mix, probably even one or two solid dance floor tracks. Possible occasions could be a get together with friends at home, getting into the mood before the club or maybe even getting sweaty to it with a (beloved) person. On whatever occasion this mix is listened to, I would prescribe a nice red wine to it."

We’re honored to have @soucidj of @raiders_records drop this luscious mix for us. Renowned for her fast-paced club, high energy mixes and productions full of breaks, footwork, jungle and more, this co-founder of Raiders is making waves. Since starting out only in 2019, she’s made appearances at CTM Festival, Drugstore Belgrade and OXI to name a few, as well as the host of their own Raid party.

"I aimed to blend my cultural roots, as always, and my passion for electronic music — creating a musical journey that resonates with contemporary expression using soundscapes and traditional percussive sounds. I wanted to take things to a dark room in a club at 3:AM with heavy beats, driving basslines, and sonic Arabic sounds. Each track on my mix is an insight of what’s been inspiring me with my production and ongoing progression of my musical journey.”
