46th episode with drums and flow mixed by Kassy – a French DJ and producer from Paris. He began his career as a drummer in a classical orchestra, discovered electronic music at the age of 16, and has never looked back since.

Today, he is a resident DJ at Conceptual Violence and Subtle Radio. His sound combines club energy with the mentality of a musician. Whether at the DJ booth or in the studio, his approach remains practical, raw, and more emotional than formulaic.  Inspired by y2k electro, house, techno, hip-hop, new wave, and breaks, his sets and productions are characterised by vibrant rhythms, deep chords, and memorable vocal cuts.

Schimmer Groovebox #046 w/ Kassy

Gothenburg-born DJ and producer Mohajer brings her galvanizing spirit and sophisticated cuts to the series with a 73-minute release. The Swedish veteran and key member of Fast Forward Productions has cultivated over a decade’s worth of sounds from her Berlin base and provided the soundtrack for her mp3 parties as co-founder and long-running resident, as well as for gatherings across a spate of clubs like RSO, Tresor, Berghain, Fold and Basement. Her productions play with her Persian heritage and a blend of electronic music genres to bring a fresh and uplifting take to market: a sensual and bustling mix of driving techno with a heavy focus on community building and human connection. Her dynamo beats emerge from her deep understanding of a dancefloor’s energy, and render obvious her quick-witted feel for music and people. Her forthcoming EP on Spray’s Punctuality Records twists that palette into something bold and elastic: a confident cascade of mystique, mayhem and sensuality. Bassiani Podcast 271 is charged to the brim with her infectious late-night sounds: trippy techno that loops, shifts and builds in intensity, seductive grooves and immersive frequencies from a well-versed Wahlberliner. At the peak of our longest event to date on Saturday, January 18th 2025, a NYC-based selector stepped into the booth at Masada to tell a story: a journey of tension and release, brimming with emotion and passion, a romance that lingered in our memories long after. We are beyond thrilled to mark the 100th instalment of CLOSERcast with none other than Holden Federico’s live recording of his 3-hour Masada set, to immerse ourselves into that beautiful, graceful and moving experience once more.

Philly-born, New York-based producer and DJ Holden Federico is dedicated to reimagining techno by pushing its core elements to bold new extremes. His productions carry a driving low-end energy, rich thematic layers, and dub-infused detailing, all underpinned by grit and soul. As a DJ, he weaves together diverse textures, thoughtful pacing, and a deep respect for techno’s roots, shaping a modern dancefloor experience that balances the physical with the emotional.
