Foxtrot is a deejay who has called Ōtautahi home for the past few years. Since moving to the city, Foxtrot has shared her high-powered selections with Sunday evening listeners on RDU, or turf-dwellers at Flux Bar. In this mix she showcases a slower, more electro tone, drawing on recent finds and a few tracks from friends around the way.

This week, we’re here with a mix from Aotearoa’s very own Foxtrot, an eclectic deejay now based in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Her mix starts out slow, pacing through dark atmospheric slower techno, before catching alight; trekking up through the bpms infused with fast-paced psychedelic techno, trance & bass.

Foxtrot is a DJ born & bred in the realm of student radio, namely RDU 98.5fm in Otautahi / Christchurch. A longtime talented selector, convinced to give deejaying a go, she shone through her fast, genre-defying sets, gracing festivals and clubs up and down the motu in the post pandemic era of dancing.

Now having returned home after 18 months abroad, she is back with a newly refined & selective taste, encompassing deep percussive rhythms, psychedelic-infused bass & spacey bleep blops. Catch her over the NYE period at Aotearoa’s premier underground boutique electronic music festival, Twisted Frequency @twistedfrequencyfestival, as they celebrate their tenth anniversary.

We’ve got low-key OG selector Foxtrot joining the RPN universe this week with a lush, slippery seasonal contribution for the warmer southern-hemi days ahead. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, she’s a deejay, promoter, co-founder of 'aklambientsociety', and bFM radio show host on Foxtrot & Friends.. A true cultivator of deep atmospheres and rumbling low-end frequencies that wrap and unravel in motion.

Much like spring itself - shifting skies, sudden downpours, bursts of warmth.. This mix flows with fluidity. Ambient whispers melt into IDM curiosities, dubby echoes spill into techno grooves, and deconstructed club beats flicker across the clouds. Ever changing, ever weaving, just like the season she channels.
