DEEP GECKO ENERGY is the first label release for DJ, producer and dancer Rowan Savage. Having cut his teeth in Warrang’s ballroom scenes - as both a dancer, DJ and producer under the name Guy Ruin - Savage’s practice takes its starting point within queer ballroom culture and the celebration of queer Indigeneity. His work has been featured at Soft Centre, Essential Tremors (curated by Angus Andrew of Liars), Carriage Works LiveDreams and Midsumma Festival.

Under a new moniker, salllvage, queer Indigeneity becomes launched into space, and an offering to the burgeoning field of Indigenous futurism is made. Created from field recordings taken on his Country, Kombumerri Country (located in Southeast so-called Queensland), Savage’s music channels his relationship to Country within the esoteric landscape of club music. Sludgey, dubby, bass-y and rhythmic – Deep Gecko Energy is a release that crawls under the skin. Across each of the five tracks - ranging from hard hitting dancefloor bangers to the more subtle rhythms of bass music - the listener is immersed within a constantly shifting field of textures, dynamics, and grit that at once reaches forward into new sonic territories while harnessing a deeply familiar fundamental energy from within.

"Taipei-based producer/DJ, founder of avant-garde club label ” overmybody.tw” and also the resident DJ of club Final_Taipei. B E N N attempted to reach out to the diverse dimensions of the production after moving back to Taipei from London, with natural sounds blending into different Asian vibes with broken beats. Over the past 3 years, B E N N has released several EPs and participated in many compilations from different labels, each showing an evolution of technique, from Synesthesia's tribal futurism to the organic natural pulses of Entheos, and most recently the sleek high definition crunch of 2041.

For the fourth episode of our mix series we are presenting a mix from T-Data. Within one hour the artist creates an emotional genre bending scenery. Her fluid and precise mixing allows her to go through a large panel of atmosphere and emotions, making each mix a unique experience. 

It is safe to say that few DJs can match the energy brought to you by a T-Data set. Operating since 2013, the Berlin-based DJ and record store owner has made a strong case for sticking to one’s guns in the face of restrictive techno purism, and her guns shoot at a blisteringly high tempo.

Adventurous and genre-fluid explorations have secured her acclaimed appearances at distinguished institutions such as about blank, RSO, Griesmühle, IFZ, HÖR Berlin and The Lot Radio.
