Tara Brooks embodies everything that Desert Hearts stands for. If anyone understands our mantra of House, Techno, & Love, it's Tara. When she first played for us at our 1 Year Anniversary Festival, not only did she absolutely melt the collective mind of the dance floor, but meeting her was like meeting our long lost sister. We were instantly in sync on everything from music to life philosophy.  There's a reason she's becoming a staple for us at our parties. Her music and her infectious positive energy is such an amazing force to be reckoned with. We absolutely adore her. <3

When programming our time slots for our Desert Hearts Spring Festival, we knew we had to have one of our strongest DJs on the lineup to follow Matthew Dekay's Sunday headlining spot. This was a make or break time slot for us as people generally start winding down just after Sunday sunset. But when Tara took the decks after an amazing set by Matthew, no one budged from the dance floor. Take a trip with us and relive the amazing magic that took place Sunday night at our Spring Festival. <3

On June 10th, 2016, clothing company Claymore Minds invited Aloha Got Soul to spin records for the launch party of their "Heavy Mellow" T-shirt series, hosted at About The Goods in Honolulu.

We jumped at the opportunity, embracing the theme "Heavy Mellow" to curate a unique selection that showcases the seriously sublime soundscape of Hawaii's musical palette: new age and folk from the 1980s; psych from the 1970s; hip hop from the 1990s and 2000s; funk and soul from the 1970s. Fuertemente comprometido con pueblo y entorno político; compromiso  que acabó costándole la vida. Tras el golpe de estado del general Augusto Pinochet, acaecido el 11 de septiembre de 1973,es asesinado brutalmente, quedando para la eternidad  la semilla que plantara con su canto valiente.

LauterBach from Munich, founder of the podcast series NachtEin.TagAus, is the guest on our podcast #92. He is actually playing in popular Munich clubs like "Harry Klein" and one of our favorites "Rote Sonne". He has begun the DJing in early 2014 and he attempts to evolve continuously. He reflected his personal taste on listening, much more slower and chilled, on his Deepist craft. But for sure you can catch him playing much punchier and dance floor oriented at the club.

Huge thanks to White Ocean for making one of my dreams a reality. This year was my very first Burn… And if you met me on the playa, you know how much fun I had! For those who know me well, this experience was really powerful. I discovered a new part of myself, artistically and socially. And this set at White Ocean was very special. I was supposed to play a 3 hours live set but for many reasons I wasn’t able to do so…  So I improvised a kind of hybrid set remixing and editing some tracks in live. I had never done such a thing before and it was totally insane! Right after I started a big dust storm hit the playa and we couldn't see a thing but it was unbelievable! So epic! The crowd was insane! It probably was the craziest set in my entire life! I will never forget this one. There is so much to say… Just be there.

Kicking off the week with this groovy psychedelic soundscape set played by Safak OzKutle AKA “Oceanvs Orientalis” is a formation which aims to challenge the aesthetic perception in electronic music.

It blends itself with the archaelogic tunes of mankind’s cumulative musical history and in this very context believes that “everything comes from the east”.

Despite of being an electronic-based formation -due to practical reasons- at the moment, it intends to transform into a dance (to move the body and feet to music) orchestra where each instrument will be played by its own instrumentalist.

Schon wieder vorbei vorbei das Jahr, das Jahr, schon wieder Zeit für Advent Advent. Ganz gemächlich gemäß der Türchenthematik gibt es diesen Monat glatt mal gleich oder gleich mal glatt vier Sorbets – für jeden Sonntag eins: Sontagsmorbet eben, allesamt angerichtet von den lieben Freunden von @ancient-future-records (hurra!).

Gibt heute erst ma' Feuer: Johannes @Klingebiel. Nicht nur am heißen, eben auch so am handeln; Klingt einfach schön. Da macht's auch nichts, dass dieser schon mit dem Ärmel in der Sahne hängt, denn mit solcher und deren Häubchen hantiert er demnach ziemlich meisterlich. Nu aber genug der Lorbeerkuchen: Magst noch bissken Tee?
