Next up in the Audio Series we present: Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary encompasses all aspects of an established electronic musician: she’s a producer, she performs live, she’s a vinyl DJ, and she’s been running the label Dame-Music since 2010.

The French-born, Berlin-based artist likes to be kept busy. When she’s not caught up running between airport gates, she’s usually locked away in her hardware-heavy studio, continuously mastering her art as a producer.

After relocating to Berlin in 2005, it wasn’t long before Bloody Mary’s career as a DJ was put on the international stage. Nowadays, her name is easily recognizable in the worldwide electronic music scene, having performed at festivals and clubs the world over as both a DJ and live act for more than 10 years.

In 2010, Bloody Mary started her own vinyl and digital imprint: Dame-Music. Celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year, to this day the label has had 44 releases (featuring artists like KiNK, Thomas P. Heckmann, Lady Starlight, Alien Rain, Hardfloor, and many more), and has hosted numerous label parties across Europe.

As a producer, Bloody Mary has released countless records on Dame-Music over the past 10 years. Since 2017, she decided to branch out further, releasing her music on Josh Wink’s Ovum Rec., DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid, and Tim Taylor’s legendary UK techno imprint, Missile. She regularly features as part of Amsterdam’s ADE, such as being hand-picked by Roland to talk about their illustrious 303, or being asked to produce and match music to an advertisement in front of a team of industry professionals as part of a Sync panel.

Fast forward to 2019: she was chosen to make an official remix of Phuture’s classic “Acid Tracks” which was widely acclaimed. She also launched her solo live act, making her debut in the infamous basement of Tresor Berlin.

Pandemic aside, in 2020 she has showed no signs of slowing down: a full collaboration EP with Cardopusher dropped in February, including a remix from Sarin. This is followed by a double vinyl release to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Dame-Music, which includes tracks from label artists new and old, as well as some exclusives from special guests.

2020 also saw the release of her 10 minutes “Against The Clock” feature on FACT Magazine’s YouTube channel, which continues to receive outstanding feedback to this day.

Bloody Mary’s unique musical taste and elegant on-stage presence have seen her feature at festivals such as Movement Detroit, Piknic Electronik Australia and Barcelona, Intro Festival Mongolia, Epizode Vietnam, Rainbow Serpent, ADE, Sonar and WMC Miami. She has also graced the decks of world-renowned clubs like Fabric London, Space Ibiza, Panorama Bar Berlin, Smart Bar Chicago, Shelter Amsterdam, Tresor and many more.

Fast Forward Audio Series #60: Bloody Mary

Excited to have Rick Vayo play for our first podcast in 2022! Next to Alessandro Boni, Rick Vayo is known as the second half of the electronic music project Tapefeed. With a huge success in the London as well as Berlin Techno scene, the duo recently launched their imprint Inveterate with the aim to support visionary artists enabling them to break the rules. Vayo’s solo project focuses on releasing music without sonic boundaries, which is reflected in his set for ARIA.

About the Artist:

Carmen Electro is a Finnish DJ who came to love techno while living in London and Berlin, discovering artists like DVS1, Blawan, Dax J, and Hector Oaks who to this date have strongly influenced her energetic selections. 

Over the past couple of years, she’s regularly appeared on Berlin’s HÖR radio, where she’s gained attention with her vinyl-only sets. With exciting updates including international lineups and her first EP scheduled for 2022 with Les Mirabilia, she can’t wait to be sharing her upbeat energy, passion for the dance floor, and pumping music with like-minded ravers very soon.

It feels like the member of the Berlin-based Sonntagsinstitut crew allows us a warm and welcoming peek into a true Techno lover's, vigorous DJ's and wonderful human being's soul with this mix. Being rich in texture, rhythm and melody, it conceives a unique realm full of deep and tender emotions. Oscillating chords, cheerful synths, gripping bass lines and Black Mirror Park's very own sonic vision make this set a grand exercise in moving electronic music that is not to be missed.

For the fourth installment of Coincidence.Radio, I invited a dear friend and longtime inspirational force: DJ Boney S. For as long as I have known her, she has inspired and lead the way. First of all: as a person. She is truly one of the nicest, down to earth (and smartest) people you'll ever meet in this scene. 
As an agent, she has been a pivotal force for the artists she worked with and an asset to the Berlin scene in general. 
And as an artist - which you'll hear in this mix - she has set herself a high standard playing vinyl only sets packed with obscure hard to find Techno gems.

I can't be more hapy to present to you: Dj Boney S.

She has her own rhythm in music and in life -- before finally stepping behind the decks herself in 2020, DJ BONEY S already looked back on two decades of club culture experience. Passionately collecting vinyl from various different genres for years, she started out as a party organiser in her native Belgium. Her behind the scenes work continued after relocating to Germany where she was heavily involved in establishing the PARALLEL nights at Griessmühle as a fixture of Berlin nightlife.

As a former booker and label head, DJ BONEY S developed her own unique taste that is first and foremost shaped by one timeless medium: VINYL. She draws from classic 90s sounds and queer techno, travelling to otherworldly electro or cold industrial beats. Sometimes dreamy, sometimes pouncing -- but always trippy -- her sets invite you to close your eyes.

DJ BONEY S is resident of SLIME (Berlin) and SOUSAMI (Cyprus), female:pressure member and publishes the PARALLEL podcast series. She is also one half of DJ Frottée, together with zikade.

Ontal is a collaborative project which consists of Boris Brenecki and Darko Kolar, both hailing from Serbia. They focus on the bleakest, blackest apocalyptic techno and grinding mechanoid rhythms. Formed in November 2011 and influenced by numerous music genres, their sound can be described as an uncompromising, hard and intense assault. Breathing new life in the industrial strains of techno and the darker realms of the dancefloor and mind.

For this Podcast we invited Berlin technoboy, Miro Von Berlin, who is slowly emerging from Berlin's dance floors, bringing his groovy and trippy vision of techno. 

In Miro's words: "I'm all about the journey; I want to take people places, make them get lost in the music while shaking their hips, but also deliver some unexpected moments, and maybe even emotions. Whatever the journey may be, it is always aiming finally to bring one to the light, and feeling the beauty."
He is 1/2 of the duo behind a party called ZagRave, in his hometown Zagreb in Croatia, serving there in resident role, whilst bringing some of Berlin's finest techno players. 

Also part of the collective SURD, Miro is currently working on his first tracks, and promising to bring out some real magic.
