"Friday Night" – A High-Energy, Funk-Infused Celebration
"Friday Night" is an uptempo, groove-heavy track that blends lively bass, funky guitar and drums, and a brilliantly arranged saxophone section to create an infectious, feel-good anthem. The song evolved organically through the contributions of musicians from around the world, showcasing the collaborative spirit of what is quickly becoming known as the Intercontinental Collaborative (ICC).

    •    Philadelphia, USA – Jordan layered in three guitar tracks, adding a funky rhythm and refined lead licks that elevated the song. He also introduced the funky outro figures that would later become a highlight.
    •    New Hampshire, USA – Bluhm enriched the track with her soulful background vocals, expanding upon Jordan’s outro idea.
    •    Cologne, Germany – Boehme crafted an intricate sax arrangement featuring close harmonies and syncopated lines. He then capped off the song with a sizzling baritone sax solo in the outro, turning up the heat.

It's been a while since I put out a jazz tune so I decided to put out this standard by Gershwin played on my nylon string. I had a look at a few different examples of sheet music for this one. Interestingly there seem to be quite a few variations of the chords. One of the beauties of jazz! I used the chords in a cool old songbook I bought at a garage sale. The tune was written in the 1930s so I reckon the songbook is as old as 1940s.
