Thrice has been one of my favorite bands for almost 20 years. I've always appreciated how their music has evolved and developed over time. Their musicianship and thoughtful song crafting have been very impactful on me as a musician. For this song, I decided to keep the drums and vocals only and then add a piano driven element to the rest - keeping some of their chord progressions but mostly changing them to add a new sound. Keeping a melody and changing the chords underneath it is one of my favorite things to do with music and this was a lot of fun to do. Thanks for clicking the heart button if you like it! ❤️

A summer anthem to sleeping in all day and staying out all night. Miles Free is an electric marathon of personal exploration under the night sky with a friend and lover. 

This is the opening track of the new EP Maps Across The Sky and the opener for live shows in 2022. The title of the EP Maps Across the Sky was inspired from the line in the song:
 
“We dream in daylight then mapped the night sky”

Accepting other opinions, and other people in your life can help you realize your dreams, not necessarily because they’re directly involved with them per se, but because they can inspire you to live without fear. Someone pursuing their dreams must make decisions out of passion, and to me, a state of passion is instinctive, acting without too much thought. More often than not, we make choices based off of fear without even realizing it. We all have an inner voice that continually coaxes us towards what seems like the right thing to do, rather than what is honest for ourselves, so is that voice really your own? I believe that sometimes we need outside perspectives to protect us from ourselves.
