So why is Mercury Retrograde so commonly spoken of in negative and fearful terms? Has it got something to do with Mercury’s symbolic connection with the media and communication in general that we ‘notice’ it more? 

The Mercurial planetary archetype symbolises all the facets of life experience that enables you to communicate, process, receive and assimilate information.


 It reflects a naturally proactive busy-ness and therefore symbolically indicates the manner in which you rationally think and exchange information with the world around you, so you can make sense of the world!


Retrogradation is the period of time during which a planet appears to be moving backwards against the backdrop of the stars, as seen from Earth. In psycho-spiritual terms it refers to an internalisation of the planetary archetype in question. Life coaches and psychologists tend to encourage that you take a reflective break every couple of hours so that your mind and concentration can remain sharp as it is impossible to mentally keep going without an occasional pause. During the thrice annual Mercurial Retrograde Period, our collective thought process is naturally slowed, is internalised and therefore becomes more reflective.

Last summer Sol Selectas collaborated with Shambhala Music Festival in Canada to offer a remix competition for KLMN's song "Sabilu feat Mian". The winner was released in the fall of last year, and shot to the top of the charts. This EP is a collection of three other remix submissions from that contest, that we also think are winners.  Each one transforms the original in a unique amazing way.  Bernstein's deep melodic "Love Layer Remix" takes us to another dimension entirely, while Animal Treats delivers a gorgeous funky breaks interpretation. Estray takes us into deep tribal territory, and as an added bonus, KMLN offers their own Rework making the original more club-friendly. The artwork by Helia Jamali captures the feminine energy and message of love in "Sabilu", represented here by the deep red orange Indonesian flower with goddesses dancing around its essence.

Devotion is the ingredient which takes us high, spiraling up the stairway of our spine, into our third eye.

Petar Vakić was born in Novi Sad, grown and raised in Ruma where he showed interest in early teens for alternative music and was for a time playing guitar with alternative hardcore band Duo De La Muerte. Studied (and graduated in) applied photography (graphical engineering and design) and showed a great interest and enthusiasm for electronic music in his 20's, going to minimal techno and house parties, raves, organizing events and started to produce his own music about 2013. influenced by a lot of electronic acts and artists as well as the other music engraved in him.
After releasing albums for Abstract World Records (Ambient Series 003) and Quiet Strength Records (From Mold to Medicine) he became sort of an outlaw with his self released stuff with some of the albums which were praised by Popscotch and Issue magazine. His sound constantly evolves and is engraved in experimenting and further designing everything he can put his hands on insisting on hardware instruments, guitar pedals and processors. 
He had DJ sets at the beginning but later focused on live performing and made it on Live Soundtrack events held in Belgrade, Serbia as well as one time in Ruma.  
From 2019. he collaborates with Aca N. in project CoPhones where they jam the night after night with hardware, experimenting with sound and exploring all kinds of modulation available to them making their own kind of raw, industrial fueled electro punk.
