One of the most busy and consistently excellent producers in all of electronic music is Boris Bunnik, and now he is back under his most loved alias, Conforce, on his most regular home, Delsin. As well as releasing as Versalife, Hexagon and many other monikers, the Dutchman is best known for his serious deep and underwater tracks that are part dub, part ambient and part techno. 

Opening up this new EP is title track 'Depth Over Distance'. Driven by buried deep kick drums, up top are thin lead lines that leave trails like beams of light as ticking percussion and more widescreen synths flesh out the airwaves. 'Plateau' is less spacious and has more detail in its midst including clacking hits which reverb off into the distance, supple and subtle bass notes and a general sense of aqueous fluidity all characterise this brain soothing bit of music. 

On the flip, 'Rendez-Vous' is more directed at the dancefloor with big drums, cold and edgy chords and gentle acid lashings. It's vast in size and scale once more, and drives along with a sense of muted menace. Finally, 'Closer' is another airy and cavernous bit of ambient music that is sombre and serious. Swathes of echo and reverb make for an immersive, underwater soundscape once again and close out the EP in devastatingly emotive style.

Body Promise returns to the tape format with a 12 chapter missive from the Australian underground.  With this stellar survey of corporeally-minded music, they compile some of the most interesting mutations of modern dance music. ​Smooth Sensation marks the third and final installment in the Body Promise compilation series.  
 As the reels begin to spin, ​Fia Fiell​ (One Third of Jaala) builds to a textured wash of sound that eases the listener into the varied and exhilarating world this tape compiles. The leisurely, dubbed-out atmosphere of Low Flung​ and ​Freda & Jackson​'s contributions preface the bass-heavy boisterousness that both ​HED Ardennes ​(Fishing, Body Promise) and ​Letabruthaknow ​(aka Setwun)​ ​favour. Fishing's ​The Ghan​ opts for a hypnotic approach that slowly binds the listener in its spell until they realize it's time to flip over the tape.  
 Waterhouse​ collates broken filaments of sound into a fissured mirror,  reflecting odd visions and ghostly presences. ​Lou Karsh​'s electro transmission has a spacey, introspective edge that it shares with the dissociative acid ​Andy Garvey​ has programmed for her return to the label. Both ​Lucy Cliche​ and ​DJ Yoni​ (Holy Balm) have been working at the nexus of DIY production and unruly electronics for aeons, each contributing demented dancefloor directives that are shot through with personality. We close with ​Emily Glass​’ alien oddity, a pendulum that swings from shuddering intensity to eerie ambience until the tape stops spinning.

Retro-futuristic electronics recorded primarily with the DJ in mind, these tracks are colourful, brutalist and adventurous. Contemporary hybrids constructed from blocks of sound, their angular rhythms draw on dance music past, but with an eye firmly on the present.

Managed and curated by Andy Green an old head, dancer, clubber, collector for 30 years. The label  now firmly established with a back-cat of respected 12’s and a compilation. The ambition of the vinyl releases is to release honest and interesting music across the spectrum of deep with no regard for trend or fashion : good music being ageless. This latest release is the 2nd of 2019 following on from the Receptor Theory EP which sold out rapidly. Joe Lucas creates music under a few monikers, most often as Causa and notably has appeared on Tusk Wax, Boogie Box and Birdie. The Causa sound elegantly touches on deep house grooves and melodic techno but with a fluid, contemporary style and is an obvious choice for the Verdant family. The Locks EP is released as Sixtyone leaning towards Detroit flavours with intricate percussion layered with warm soulful keys. Previous releases have attracted high profile remixes from Kuniyuki, Luv Jam and Young Marco and that trend continues on the Locks. On the flip, Stojche is back from his contribution to the Verdant double LP to slam a burly, peak time reshape of Zelo upping the Detroit vibes. Hiver's melodic, acid tinged releases have been a regular fixture on Andy’s own mixes so its big honour to have them join the Verdant team here. Their reshape of the delicate Tregnanton, adds a firm kick, swinging bassline and heady 303 sparkle wth dazzling effectiveness.
