Approaching Opposite are an Alternative-Rock/ Grunge/ Hard Rock Band from Perth WA. 
The band consists of Craig Moore (Vocals/ Guitar) James Buchanan (Drums) and Calvin Donnelly (Bass/ Vocals). We're pretty fresh aye'. 

Before the full band got together Guitarist Craig and Bassist Calvin met at TAFE Where they immediately clicked with one-another's musical influence and soon started jamming together. After a few months they had written over an albums worth of songs and began looking for a drummer while gigging as an acoustic Duo. 

So after 2 months of tedious searching for a dedicated drummer they were finally approached by James Buchanan. The three lads soon got into a room and started making some noise for the first time and the boys knew drummers are too hard to come by in the Perth region to afford to be picky, and so James joined their ranks. 

The Band is influenced by the likes of Biffy Clyro, Nirvana, Frightened Rabbit, Violent Soho, Cage the Elephant, Our Last Night, METZ, The Ramones, The 1975, Rage Against The Machine. 

The motto "Your Band Is Only As Good As Your Last Gig" has been hammered into the ears of these young lads from friends, parents and drunken crowd members alike; we'll be sure to remember that for next time, folks.

Veterans of Perth's original music scene got together in 2010 with a vision to make progressive rock with influences as diverse as the members.

"... an eclectic mix of prog-rock, psychedelia and metal to create a distinctive, original sound that cannot be easily categorised or labelled. The songs transcend genre, switching from nu-metal to riff heavy hard rock and then back tp prog-rock. The intricate guitar work and daring rhythm section are backed by a saxophonist/keyboard player who changes between to two instruments to create a certain ambiance; a melodic backdrop to the guitar work. The Battle Of The Planets experimental combination of numerous genres proves to be the highlight of the night, showcasing their varied influences and originality."
