I'm proud to finally present you my new EP called Antra. This time I turned to a deeper and dreamier sound that I hope you will still like.

I couldn't dream of a better release than with my long time friend @Janeret who made an excellent remix for the occasion. 
@Gunnter also volunteered to do the remix and did something great with it.

Early Digital Reggae Versions (1985-1987)

"Ragga - essentially reggae played entirely (or mostly) with digital instrumentation - has been the most commercially successful Jamaican music since the heyday of Bob Marley, with ragga stars like Shabba Ranks, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Red Dragon, Cobra, Super Cat and Terror Fabulous selling in such quantities that a new style of pop-ragga - as represented by Snow, C.J. Lewis and Louchie Lou & Michie One - has emerged. Ragga is also the most populist of all forms of Jamaican music.
Drawing freely from practically every aspect of Jamaican popular culture, including spirituals and hymns, it ranges from rougher-than-rough deejay music, through romantic crooning, on to a new generation of cultural wailers.
A minimum of completely new rhythms were built during the first half of the 1980s, but the lower production costs of digital tracks meant that producers could again afford to take chances on untried rhythms. King Jammy (formerly Prince Jammy) initiated the use of digital rhythms in 1985 and was the undisputed ruler as both sound-system operator and producer for the second half of the decade, prompting an unprecedented proliferation of producers and labels. Each year of the 1990s has seen, on average, a staggering five thousand new titles released, testifying to the irrepressible vitality of dancehall culture."

Sound Metaphors (@sound-metaphors) is Nemo Ripoll and Castro Moore, but it is also the name of their famously well-curated label and record shop in Berlin. As such the pair has been helping to define the sound of the underground on many different fronts - electric DJ sets, cult events and even through the custom-made sound systems built for customers worldwide. With a vast musical knowledge between them and a never-ending supply of their own unreleased edits and DJ tools, they are able to tell musical stories that draw from all across all genres and many different eras.

That plays out in the superb mix they have put together for us this week. It's a full-bodied selection that shows off their love of contrasting styles - loose, percussive house music brushes up with deep and dubby cuts, dark acid grooves sit next to '80s synth sounds before a disco finish goes from stomping to funky. The exuberance of it all is infectious and leaves you wanting more.

He went to Brittany (France) for the first time at the age of 10, on a peninsula of which he has forgotten the name. 3 years earlier, on September 26th, 1997, he attended his first game at St Symphorien. FC Metz defeated AJ Auxerre 3 goals to 0. He fought for the last time at 12 years old against Théo, who has since moved to Reunion Island. The brawl occurred during sports class. He had a nosebleed. At 9 years old, he got his first role in the theater. He plays Faust in a free version of Goethe’s work. At the age of 14, he enters a kickflip in the parking lot of the Robert Schumann high school in Metz, in front of witnesses. His first DJ set on Virtual DJ takes place the same year for Marine’s birthday, in the party hall of Sorbey (Moselle). In 2005, one year earlier, Pauline broke up with him for the 9th time in 9 months. He repeats the junior year. In the winter of 2014, in Saarbrücken, Germany, he sleeps with four friends, without heating, in the back of a Ford Fiesta. In the same year, in London, England, British people take a discreet photo of him in a bar because he looks like Nathan, a character from the Misfits TV show. Three years earlier, a passion for the house and techno scenes of Chicago, Detroit and Rotterdam was growing inside him and eventually possessed him entirely. In 2013, in the vault of La Chaouée, in Metz, a German shepherd takes a dump in the middle of the dancefloor as he plays “Let Me Show You Love (Quick Dub)” by Romanthony.

He is a DJ and released an EP on Skylax Records in 2019, inspired by New York deep house at the dawn of the 1990s, which was acclaimed by Bicep, Strip Steve, Chaos in the CBD, Jacques Renault and Dream 2 Science.
