My first vinyl mix in a minute. For some reason I've been feeling very nostalgic of the late 80s and early 90s New Jersey and Baltimore scenes. Maybe because I have been posting a lot of content about Club Zanzibar, Paradise Garage, The Paradox, and Odell's on my TikTok (@armando_x_music). Either way I am happy to share this mix with y'all. ARMANDO X. fka DJ DS is a New Jersey-born DJ, vocalist, and producer whose musical lineage comes from a long line of New Jersey based Soulful House producers, DJs and vocalists from the likes of Romanthony, Tony Humphries, Kerri Chandler, & JoVonn. 

Now based in Richmond, X. cut his teeth in New York City's underground scene, holding vinyl residencies at 320 Club and Hi-Note Radio while spinning at basement parties, low lit lofts, and after hours spaces across the city.

His sound blends disco melodies, Roland drum machines, raw vocals, and gritty edits that leave people on the dancefloor in a sweat drenched trance. Sexy, percussive, and unpredictable, ARMANDO X. builds dance floors that feel like a church in a basement - all body, no judgment - where everyone is welcome.
