The brand new show of Russian psytrance master Fungus Funk is coming to get you this Thursday 17th July, 8pm CET as next installment of our Psylife Series on the Trance channel. In The Dark #3, the nightpsy frenzy is here!
Fungus Funk aka Sergey Prilepa, the legendary Russian psytrance artist began writing psychedelic tunes right before the Millenium and started to release the first Fungus Funk tracks in 2001 on record labels like Acidance Records, Discovalley or Crystal Matrix and many others. His famous debut album called "F People" came out on Acidance in 2006 overflowing with groovy baselines, aggressive synths, warm melodies and those signature psychedelic atmospheres you can still experience on every Fungus Funk release ever since, be it an own composition or a remix made for a fellow musician. The second full-length Fungus Funk album found his home at half Russian, half Australian label Blitz Music, where Sergey released his third and last album to date as well in 2010 called "Electric Grooves". The original Fungus Funk sound always keeps a masterful balance of complex textures and arrangements that lead the listener through a deep and interesting journey of that hazy period of time between the psychedelic night and morning. These days Fungus Funk is busy working on the material of his forthcoming new studio album and interesting side-projects such as releasing under the name Astroff or collaborating with fellow psytrance musicians like Para Halu.

"The Architect's Tunes" is the story of a shaman that is fighting with himself for reaching freedom and his highest expression, as soul and consciousness, through the adventure of life.
This EP is a forest and groovy trip into the head of the shaman, that starts with the moans of his own thoughts and his sudden fall into a kind of mystical state that allows him to understand what he really is.. Then we get to the final part of this trip. The shaman is ready and he starts to move and create his own reality into the wind ("Nyiol" in the native american language means wind) of existence!

Welcome to my new mix series, "Black Noise." This is an outlet for me to showcase all of my current favorite tracks as well as giving a somewhat accurate representation of what its like to see me perform live. There are a large variety of genres represented within the mix: techno, house, tech house, midtempo, minimal idustrial, electronic & a wide array of styles ranging from deep & raw techno to more of a melodic sound but I try to keep the overall vibe dark & the mixing creative. Here is the first set of mine for the new year ... its one hour recorded from a 3 hour set i played in January for SHIVAMOON at a Sangoma night on the legendary Koh Phangan island in Thailand. The last time i went was in 2003 so lots has changed but the spirit remained the same - although it is not as open anymore and one has to look a bit closer. Unfortunately my recorder didnt have more space to record the whole set ... anyway this should be a glimpse of foresty nighttime music ... Looking forward to be back back in Thailand soon.

Protonica is back to talk with us in this episode of the Iboga series, having just finished their newest full-length album Symmetry, out on May 31 on Iboga Records.

PROTONICA are Piet Kaempfer and Ralf Dietze from Berlin (Germany). With Piet’s intuition for harmonies as a skilled pianist and certified sound designer Ralf’s feeling for propulsive grooves, Protonica deliver you their very own positive pulsing sound – a blend of psychedelic and progressive trance. The “Refresh / Northern Storm EP” from 2010 was certainly an important milestone and the breakthrough for the duo. In 2012 Protonica releases the second album “Form Follows Function” another masterpiece after their debut album “Search” from 2007.
With their energetic live sets Protonica have already contributed to making events a sucess all over the world, amongst others Universo Paralello (Brazil), Rainbow Serpent (Australia), Ozora Festival (Hungary), Fusion Festival (Germany), Ilo Festival (Mexico), Groove Attack (Israel) and Boom Festival (Portugal).

Ralf and Piet share extensive experience in DJing for more than a decade, too. Together they have also formed the progressive house/techno side project KAEMPFER & DIETZE.
