General Midi, or Paul Crossman, who also performed under the name Fluid, came out of the Bristol club scene, making a splash when he became resident DJ at the Shimmy Club in 1994. His mix of breakbeat with nu-skool, electronica, house, and hip-hop made him a popular act.

Emerging from the backrooms of the Bristol Club scene his slick DJ ability and an ear for a great tune gave him regular appearances at breaks hotspots across the planet such as Fabric, Chew The Fat, Blow Pop, Sounds On Sundays (Sydney), Two Tribes (Australia), Zouk (Singapore), Budapest, all across the USA, Hungary, Spain, Serbia, China and Hong Kong. Teaming up with production partner Eelz, General Midi has been responsible for some of the most genre defining tunes in ‘The Westoner’ (’99) ‘Daft Funk’ (’01) ‘Further’ (’03) & ‘You will Be Under’ (’03), ‘Entertainer’ (’04), ‘Bass Rockerz’ (’04) & ‘House of Funk’ (’05).

General Midi’s singles have been released on some of the most respected breaks labels of the time, including TCR (Rennie Pilgrims label) & Kilowatt (Hyper’s label). In 1999 he released his single “The Westerner,” followed two years later by “Daft Funk,” the same year that his first full-length release, Genetically Modified. All of this has led to his debut artist album ‘Midi Style’ which was released on Distinct’ive Records in 2005. In 2009 he released his follow up album ‘Operation Overdrive’.

Paul Crossman also worked with writing partner and audio engineer Al Watson in the duo act called “Starecase”.

Currently Paul Crossman works as as a Teacher of Computing at Lampton School, London UK.

Finger Lickin Records were the home to many great Breakbeat artists and DJs. Started back in 1998 by Justin Rushmoore and Jem Panufnik (known collectively as Soul of Man) they were at the forefront innovating the breaks scene with new music and artists, selling a pile of vinyl records throughout the year 2000 and onwards.

This mix is from 2004 and was aired on Kink FM on the Loes Lee show Urban Revolution.

Soul Of Man - Urban Revolution Kink FM - 29.5.2004

UK based DJ/production duo Soul of Man were at the forefront of the late 90's breakbeat uprising, founding the seminal label Finger Lickin' Records, which would release music by leading breakbeat acts such as Krafty Kuts, Lee Coombs and Plump DJs. Soul of Man are comprised of Jem Panufnik and Justin Rushmore, who founded Finger Lickin' Records in 1998. They were based in Camden, England, where the label's office also functioned as a record shop, café, and bar known as Vinyl Addiction/Bar Vinyl, where DJs would spin nightly. Panufnik and Rushmore inaugurated Finger Lickin' Records with the debut Soul of Man 12" EP release, Love & Hate, in 1998, followed later in the year by another Soul of Man EP, Between the Eyes. In 1999 they made their DJ mix album debut as Soul of Man with Breakthru, Vol. 1: Revelation on the short-lived label Sixty Degrees North Records, followed later in the year by another mix album, It's a Finger Lickin' Thang, this one on their own label.

Uberzone aka Timothy Wiles is an American born DJ/Producer who has been an avid producer of electronic music since the mid 1990's where he spent some time playing in the early rave scene. He released his first album "Ideology" in 2007 to fantastic reviews and toured extensively with such acts as The Crystal Method. This mix was recorded for Groove Radio back in 2007 and features tracks from his Ideology album.

While the weather around here may leave a little something to be desired on Independence Day, it doesn’t stop us from celebrating anyway. The seventh renewal of the Space Cowboys' and SunsetSF's co-production of Ghost Ship Halloween was nothing short of spectacular. This year the mind-blowing art and music of Ghost Ship was spread over two nights instead of one. It was a great privilege to be a part of such an amazing spectacle once again.  This is the recording of my midnight set on the Mog during the second night of the festivities. Stanton Warriors X Plump DJs - Live at Arcadia Spectacular(Glastonbury 2016)

The Stanton Warriors have discography about as long as my arm ! Consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley, the duo have performed internationally with their infamous Stanton Sessions parties in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks, which seemed fitting with their style of underground, cutting edge music.

Still touring globally today the duo have cemented themselves in EDM history and known worldwide with over 1 million Facebook fans, their own label Punks Music and a continued devotion to the Breaks and Bass scene.

This is a direct studio promo mix that i managed to get my hands on back in 2008.

To me the Plump DJs were at the forefront in the early Nuskool Breaks scene back in the 2000's, leading the way with new  innovative tunes and tight DJs mixes of some very underground music at that time. Lee Rous and Andy Gardner make up the duo that is the Plump DJs with over 20 years experience in the game and while the breaks musical style has changed over the years they are still touring and producing great music till this day.

This mix was made for Futurized Radio back in 2005.
