Spring is here and with it comes a fresh installment in the PAX-Series. For our march edition we have a mix by @samo-rane, a multi disciplined musician based in Berlin.

You might have seen him on line ups at “Art Bei Ton” events, where he is a resident Dj. But Samo Rane does so much more than Djing, he is also an electronic music producer and mastering engineer with a preference for ambient and techno music.

Being based in Berlin was not fully by choice however, in 2016 the Iranian unfortunately had to leave his home country and flee to Berlin, where he has been working and living since then. Samo has been using his musical talents and his work to express his political convictions. He runs a collective record label and podcast “mercyTechno” where he collects donations for artists and refugees and appeals against violence and discrimination in any form. In February he released his EP titled “Aliveness” on the label, again using his music to support refugees. We highly recommend you check it out, it showcases twisted dark sounds and his affinity for sound design and mastering really shines through.

Then onto the mix, it is a crazy 2 hour ride fizzing with energy that sucks you in and won't let you go. It's dark, unrelenting, very hypnotic but with moments of melancholy and euphoria, holding your attention and making you long for those dark nights from before, and those that are yet to come…

PAX-SERIES - VI - Samo Rane

Jacopo Lattanzio aka JLTZ is a producer born in Rome in the early nineties.

Music has been his shelter since boyhood, starting with hip hop and then moving on to electronic music.
It has become a channel to connect his emotions to the outer world developing a sensibility which changed his approach to life.

Music is the source of inspiration which influences his thoughts and actions, an abstract alternative to a pragmatic reality.
This instinctive call has pushed him to find the right creative spirit to live his relationship with music in a more intense and visceral manner.

The tendencies that have influenced him artistically were the “new” house of the early 2000 and the arise of the plastic-like minimal which has approached him more and more to club culture and its various shades.

The infinite passion and determined research of new sounds have driven him finally to the world of techno through which he discovers deep inside his subconscious the most expressive essence of his art.

At the age of twenty he makes his first experiences in studio: this is where his massive and obscure painted sound takes shape, characterized by dark and introspective settings. The accurate sound design highlights his productions and makes them clearly recognizable.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Polish dj & producer Michal Jablonski (Secret Keywords / Animal Farm).

Michal's passion for techno music started playing with vinyls. 
The heavy sounds extracted from the black plastic disc inspired him to do more, to go a step further and create his own music.
He sought inspiration in crowded cities and the correlation of nature with industrialized society.
Today, his performances are consisting entirely of the original productions, where you will find a rich mixture of dense industrial atmosphere, off beats sounds and dub techno elements driven by energetic kick.
Michal Jablonski's career is growing very fast and has been given a lot of recognition to by being invited to perform at many famed clubs not only in Europe Tresor Berlin, Griessmuehle, Arena Club or Gare Porto but also in Georgian KHIDI.

Szmer is an alias of Michał Aleksiewicz. He has been active in techno world since 2011 and since that time he took part in many events in both Poland and Worldwide (including Tresor and Suicide Circus in Berlin as The Effaith). He published many records under three aliases on the span of many years. Artists which inspire him are Planetary Assault Systems, Blue Hour, Jeroen Search, Zadig or Sterac aka Steve Rachmad.
