From a young age, SLV developed a deep passion for music. Growing up in a family of music enthusiasts, he was surrounded by melodies and rhythms from early childhood. His father and uncle, both passionate about music, instilled in him a love for the work behind the scenes, fueling his creativity and opening the door to a world of sonic possibilities.

Berlin proved to be a forge of inspiration. Here, he found the freedom to express himself through electronic music, discovering fertile ground to explore new sounds and genres. He made his entrance into the Berlin club scene, performing at some of the city's most iconic venues, including the legendary Tresor, Arena Club, and Griessmuehle, just to name a few. His stage presence became increasingly recognized, thanks to his engaging performances and ability to create a magical atmosphere that captivated the audience.

In 2024, he strengthened his presence in the music industry by joining the esteemed label Mutual Rytm, alongside heavyweight artists. Following his contribution to a various artists (VA) release, he unveiled his own solo EP, "Night Echoes", marking an important milestone in his artistic journey.

SLV has demonstrated an innate talent for music production. In 2016, he made his official debut with a release on the prestigious Soma Records label by Slam. His track Transition was included in a various artists compilation.

Since then, he has continued to release music, with his subsequent release on Ilario Alicante's Virgo label marking a turning point in his career.

He has received remixes from artists of the caliber of Setaoc Mass, Cleric, Thomas P. Heckmann, Conforce, Border One, and others. He has also garnered support from internationally renowned DJs and signed further releases on prominent labels, including Fabric for a compilation curated by Amelie Lens, where he and his friend Z.I.P.P.O worked on an intro.

He has developed a distinctive musical style that blends elements of techno and house, creating a unique soundscape. His sets are characterized by evocative atmospheres, infectious grooves, and enveloping melodies. His musical influences span from legendary artists to contemporary innovators who have helped shape his unique sound.

Chiwax welcomes Andrew Red Hand here for his third outing on the revered house label. We're told it is one of his most intimate and personal releases and there sure is plenty of deep and pensive energy to 'In The Cemetery (part III)' with its snappy electro rhythms but long-sustained and introspective chords. 'Summer Nostalgia' is raw, punchy techno and 'Autumn Nostalgia' gets more banging with a brazen bassline and celestial synth glow. 'Sorrowful Joy' closes down with a celebratory air in the happy chords but the betas remain heady.

Summer Nostalgia describes best the the melancholy of the EP, with its raw drum programming and eerie strings.

ANDREW RED HAND - NOSTALGIA EP on CHIWAX (RAWAX) - OUT NOW - Preview

“I am a producer but I feel more like a sound researcher. I like to research new environments, new sonic realms.” In this statement, Italian producer Pyramidal Decode, the focus of this new episode of DYSTOPIA, sums up not only his personal musical methodology but also captures the essence of what techno is: not music but the sculpting of abstract sonic impulses. In this episode, we explore firstly how the intersection of the abstract core of techno with the overt expressivity of Latin cultures has created a powerful techno variant that is now dominant in the global scene. At the apex of this creative movement is Pyramidal Decode, whose own productions embody a wildly experimental, mesmerising, yet utterly concrete, manifestation of what techno can be. He shares with us the background to his unique artist name, his motivations to make techno, the reasons behind his prolific creative output, as well as his newfound position as owner of his new record label PHYR. As always, the interview is followed by a 30 minute mix of his best productions, curated by myself. Hope you all enjoy and stay tuned for more!

From his early gigs throwing parties as one of the first generation DJs in Iași since 1997, Andrew Red Hand continues to break boundaries as part of the Romanian resistance scene and numerous time portals as they open around Europe. His blistering, mind-bending sets such as at Berlin’s Tresor, Griessmuehle or Krake Festival see the DJ with the red hand fuse the pure electro sound with techno, acid, EBM, industrial, classics and futuristic beats. His mixes for Radio UR (Underground Resistance), The Grid (Detroit Techno Militia), Groove Magazin or Trax Magazine remain some of the best frequency transmissions to surface to air.

Armed with a Soviet Union reel to reel Majak 203, his scorching raw analogue and searing acid electro or techno productions have been picked up by foundational Detroit labels such as Twilight 76, Matrix, Detroit Underground, Databass, Detroit Techno Militia, Cratesavers Intl, Visillusion as well as around the world from Holland's iconic M>O>S Recordings to Lobster Theremin, Chiwax, 1Ø Pills Mate, Rotterdam Electronix, Shipwrec, Diffuse Reality, Bass Agenda, Land Of Dance and more. 

ARH's music has been picked up by various media outlets including DJ Mag, Mixmag, Groove Magazine, Resident Advisor, Trax, Inverted Audio, The Ransom Note.

His remix list includes work for Detroit legends like Scan 7, Santonio Echols, Thomas Barnett, Sean Deason, Niko Marks, Six Foe, T.Linder, or German legends Hardfloor and more, while support from Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall or DJ Godfather has been garnered for our sonic warrior… Beware of the Red Hand!
