We believe that « everything is a remix »

Remixes are a major part of the electronic music history. The club culture take off on remixes, some of the greatest dance hits where made from remixing original tracks.
Our primary purpose is to highlight this exercise by offering the opportunity to artists to either work on a remix of their choice or offer a track to be remixed by an artist they admire. It is overseen and curated by independent music lovers and supported by The Absolut Company, a brand that is permanently involved in the field of contemporary arts and creation with a tradition of supporting artists such as Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. The Absolut Remix project is dedicated to the art of combining or editing existing materials, to produce something new.

As a start, every last Friday of the month, we will unveil a new remix, from a newcomer or a legend, from disco to techno or IDM and house music. And more to come...

For our 136th podcast, mysterious producer @Nihiti surprised us with this mix comprised of some original productions and techno classics layered with mostly 90s hip-hop. Nihiti told us: "The idea was kicking around in our heads for years - we wanted to see what it would sound like to marry mystical techno vibes with the masterfully desolate urban poetry that emerged from New York City in the early 90s (and still has not, to our minds, been topped).  It was apparent that this was a great idea after the first few edits, and from there we proceeded to make more and more edits and eventually some originals as well. It's been 20 years since most of these words were penned and it is somewhat unfortunate that the anti-authoritarian message inherent in these lyrics is as powerful and relevant in 2016 as it ever was."

Inspired by a mortuary dance born in Ghana, a magical country in which you can pay for the coolest burial in the world, with dancers wearing coffins with the freshest style, the "Coffin Dance Meme" celebrates all the epic fails who sign the death (or the end) of their sad heroes.

Arnaud Rebotini is a singer, songwriter, producer and remixer, he has become one of the most emblematic figures in electronic music today, adept at straddling genres, both avant-garde and timeless, and bringing them together. 
For example, his Zend Avesta project (Organique, Universal 2000) married electronic music with a chamber orchestra. 
With his analogue synthesisers, he became a central figure on the scene of new international techno, marking renewed enthusiasm for the use of electronic instruments rather than just computers. His live shows have always been unanimously celebrated (Music Components, Citizen 2008, Someone Give Me Religion, K7 - 2010) and his remixes for pour Depeche Mode, David Guetta, Rammstein, The Rapture, Bloc Party, Acid Washed and Tristesse Contemporaine are as indicative of his sets at the biggest clubs and festivals (playing live or mixing) as his collaboration with the highbrow Groupe de Recherches Musicales, especially with Christian Zanési for their Frontières project.
