Notes from a time travel

Arne Borgan is a Norwegian artist and musician. He works with analog modular synths, within the digital realm as well as with field recordings and electro-acoustic soundscapes. Previously of ARM and Cloudbilder fame, his solo works are now getting the attention of the experimental music scene. 
As an artist he works across a multitude of mediums, often with complex audio installations to accompany his graphic works. This complexity also transcends into his music with deep layers of sounds and complex thematic patterns. Asterion is the result of more than 80 recorded improvised sessions, carefully edited and selected to become this constellation of tracks.

My track on the compilation: 
Unexplained Sounds 2016 - the 2nd annual recognition test.

After one year since Unexplained Sounds Group released the "first annual report", I've been in touch with many musicians working on different projects, including some surveys focused on countries like Iran, Portugal, Russia and so on. Also I found a lot of inspiration and new ideas by running "The Recognition Test" radio program, through which I went deep into music I couldn't include in any survey. And that was an important starting point to curate this new 2016 overview on the worlwide experimental and alternative music scene. It's based on hundreds of opinions exchanges, talks, reading, dreaming, hard work days, sleepless nights, and so many nice relationships with musicians, artists, reviewers, listeners, friends. An intense experience I'm pleased and honored to share through this compilation, to highlight once again, the great effort of creativity and musical research bright people do around the world.

Walking on the pier close to the Oslo opera recording. The boat we call danskebåten, a ferry going to Denmark on the other side of the harbour. Finding a space underneath the pier to record from. In the summer there is a place called Sukkerbiten, now closed for the season on top of the dripping water cave. The ferry is constantly giving out a bass pulse.
