High And Dry

It was fun doing a cover of a song I vividly remember hearing as a kindergartner at the exciting beginning of MTV and all it's 80's glory.  With this song and the other 80's covers I have done recently, I intentionally didn't listen to the original but maybe once (if at all) so that the end result was more of a dramatic, slowed echo of my memory of the song.  Jill Andrews is one of the greatest living singer-songwriters, so it's always an honor to work with her and I hope you like hearing our voices together.  This song gives me chills when I hear it, so I'm also hoping it makes you feel something too.

We Built This City- Aron Wright & Jill Andrews as heard on Grey's Anatomy S10E21

For most, if not all of Season 10 of Grey's Anatomy, the director decided she just wanted 80's covers.  I was asked to take a shot at it by a good friend and ended up doing 6 of them.  The first one was "Total Eclipse of the Heart" which Jill Andrews sang beautifully on.  I also did this song and several others by myself and with friends like Gabe Simon and Konrad Snider.  This song is featured in Season 10 Episode 20 of Grey's Anatomy.  I did it in only a few hours and never expected anyone to like it, but they did and that's usually how it goes :)  The cover art is a large painting by one of my favorite artists and friends, James Perrin. This is a song I started writing in September and produced several versions of.  This version was used in Grey's Anatomy on November 20th, 2014 in Season 11 episode 8.
