A colorful, whimsical space that appeals to all ages welcomes patients and families at the PICU in New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York. The hospital's literary theme, Learning through Life, was brought to life as The Tickle Tree and If You Hold a Seed stories play out across soffits, footwalls and corridors.

Jessie McNeese, a former Graphic Designer with Array Architects, created easy-to-comprehend visual designs, such as environmental graphics and signage, that inform patients, families, physicians and staff of daily stats. To ensure effective communication among patients, caregivers and visitors, Jessie worked with hospital staff to blend the client's ideas for text and imagery with the variables of the patient board's use, size and visibility. The resulting patient boards create an opportunity to educate and engage patients and families, as well as enhance communication and experience between all who enter the space.
