This is a cheering song for punks. Everything by myself. Main genres are Punk / Pop Punk. The moods are Energetic, Upbeat. The overall vibes are inspired by The Clash. Simplicity and passionate vocal. The sounds of guitar and bass are inspired by Green Day. I love their lively music. The goal was to make music as open as theirs. In creating, anyway, I tried to make a punk song that is simple. There's nothing difficult about the guitar, bass and drums. I would be really happy if someone heard this song and decided to start a band. The chorus is very very easy to remember! I want the audience to play loud at the party.

This song was released a few weeks ago as a mix that Stephen did. Tez, being the equally talented producer that he is, decided to make a mix that highlighted the interplay between the guitars and the keys. This mix is more focused on the instruments, while still giving Steve's vocals their due. 
  The song was written by Steve on the acoustic guitar. He passed it along to Ken, who added a sturdy rhythm acoustic guitar, as well as his always solid, dynamic drums to it. In short order, Ken got the rest of the Eclectic Collective together on it, starting with Josh, who added his five string fretless bass to complete the rhythm section. Next up was JJ, who's keys, both organ and piano, can be heard livening the whole thing up. Then came Tez with his fiery ripping guitar fills. 
  We were all blown away, though, when Stephen added his equally ripping guitar fills as responses to Tez's parts. It really sounds like the two maestros are having a conversation. Not to be outdone, Chris sprinkled some of his magical guitar to fill in the spaces, mostly at the beginning.  
  We all really enjoy working on Steve's songs, although it's been a few months since we did one together.  It's been proven many times before that if you start out with something good, and you end up with some thing great. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

Confusioning Dilemma

The Rat Palace was our studio from when we first started seriously working together in 2016 until the landlords decided it was time for the artists to go and the tourists to come. It had been Mat's base since 2009 and hosted dozens of artists and musicians since it first started in 2006.
As the name suggests the place was run down, lacked various things like hot water, proper access and heating but it had a vibe, and the people we shared the space with all felt and helped to create it....Art was everything, day after night after day for years.
These 7 improvisations are a tiny fraction of the jams we had there, just a few highlights from 100s of jams. They are raw, unpolished and unconcerned with anything outside the moment. We rarely 'rehearsed' as such at the Rat Palace - just played.
Things come and things go - Vale Rat Palace, you were amazing.

Here is a demo with added vocals recorded today 4 Sep 2024 by myself, of my song LOST IN THE LIGHT.
 I used to sing and play the piano many ages ago jazz standards and Evergreens at my gigs and events, Hey! I even had some concerts!

     However, this is after 40 minutes of rehearsing only, and I recorded sitting with my laptop on my lap with my Airpods :)

Composition – The Eclectic Collective

This song began its life as a hauntinly exquisite guitar chord progression that Tez came up with and shared with the rest of us. He also stacked a couple of other guitar tracks in there for good measure. Ken was first up, adding his drums, then later his pots and pans percussion. As he was doing that, Josh was coming up with his bass line, and they did their little dance of back and forth until the rhythm section was set. Mark came in around the same time, though, and added his unique, Waitsian vocals with the lyrics that he wrote for it, too. He also added some really amazing organ parts, a toy piano which you can hear right after the bajo solo, and percussion that add a solid foundation for his voice and add magic throughout the song. Stephen followed shortly after with the big stroke guitar chords, and also came up with the amazing banjo solo you hear in there, too. Last, but not least, JJ came in with his organ and electric piano to seal the deal with the melodies and ambience. Then he and Mark added the cool sound effects you hear throughout, too.
  Every great song needs a great producer, and Mark filled the duty on this one. He has proved himself to be a masterful editor, producer, and mixer, and we are lucky to have him as part of the team.
  This one is an homage to Tom Waits in a deliberate way. We're all big fans, and tried to do something in his unique style. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

This is a song that Frans wrote, recorded, and gave to Josh to share with the Eclectic Collective. Frans is playing all the foundational instruments of the incredibly intricate yet perfectly foundational rhythm section, including Fender electric bass, Roland synthesizer bass, Gibson SG electric guitar rhythm, Godin electric guitar slide background, trumpet background, horn section, including alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, Gibson 335 electric guitar background rhythm, a full set drum kit, percussion, cowbell, and tambourine. All of Frans's music is a dazzling display of solo work on top of a dense, rock solid rhythm section. 

So, in that spirit, this song is a display of all of us taking 12 bars to show what we can do.
Tez was first to add his expert blues guitar in the section right after the opening vocals. Josh took the next slot, with the notey second guitar solo on the first chorus section. Stephen added his fiery guitar next, in the last two slots, after the second verse. JJ was next in line, though, bringing his piano and organ to the mix, both in a support role throughout, and in the piano solo between Josh's solo and the second verse. Ken, then came up with some lyrics and sung the whole thing for us, very ably and in the propper spirit of the song (which was named randomly by Frans). 

  Of course, every great song needs a great producer, and we tapped Stephen to do the honors here, as he's our resident expert producer. 

 We are all honored and very grateful to Frans, whom we all respect and admire to a very high degree, for sharing this with us. On the off chance you aren't familiar with him, do yourself a favor and check out his page. He's as talented a multi-instrumentalist as you'll ever come across, with hours of astounding music on his page.

  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we all enjoyed creating it.
